Default Alt/Prog Metal
Greetings, all, I'm looking for new alt/experimental/progressive metal bands. I love Tool, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Dream Theater, Deftones (don't judge) and Gojira. Does anyone know of some new or up and coming bands that sound like these?

Any recs for raw, primitive thrash in the vein of Slayer?
This might be an ignorant statement (I'm not and have never been into thrash), but it mostly sounds a lot like heavy metal to me, which is too polished a genre for my taste.
