I like some nu metal. System of a Down used to be my favorite band and I still love them. I like some Korn, too. I also feel a little embarrassed to say this, but I also like some Slipknot.

I like some nu metal. I really don't see why there's so much hate for it, except that it was the biiiiiig thing for awhile. And like it was mentioned, I think the rapping actually compliments the music quite well.

Oddly, I'm only beginning to like it now that it's dead. Weird how that works.

Still can't stand Slipknot, though.

All of this applies to me as well. I'm only starting to get into nu metal as well and I don't like Slipknot either. It could be because their fanbase is a bunch of tards. Nu Metal isn't entirely dead yet though, Five Finger Death Punch has sort of a nu metalish sound, plus I have a few friends who are really into the genre as a whole. Hell I know more people that would rather listen to Limp Bizkit as opposed to say Fall Out Boy or MCR. Yet again, it could be because my city's still stuck in 90s land for the most part. =P

Can't really stand the music. It doesn't really come off as genuine either. It's just music that attempts to be loud, aggressive and dark, but comes off as a joke by the lack of musical talent these bands think they have along with the lack of songwritting abilities. Not really my cup of tea. However, I was a pretty big Korn fan in highschool. I can't help but not listen to a few of there songs that I consider listenable every now and thenb for nostalgia.

I'll admit to throwing on Korn's debut album once in a blue moon. The whole thing actually sounded kind of fresh back then. It just got tired rather quickly because of the sheer simplicity in the song structure for nu metal. Even Follow the Leader, which I can admit to being obsessed over in middle school, isn't listenable to me now.

I remember the day I realized the music I had been listening to was total crap. No one knew, but I was still very embarrassed.

Nu Metal isn't really that bad of a genre. Korn and Linkin Park seem decent to me. There's worse, I mean.

They could listen to Limp Bizkit.

For some odd reason I really like Soil's Redefine album and Papa Roach's Infest is decent enough. It was just a case of so many bands saturating the genre which meant that some decent stuff was lost in the quagmire.

The same thing happened to Thrash too in the late 80's/early 90's. I think SOAD are excellent personally.

I do actually like the Limp Bizkit track Break Stuff (but no others) but I always hated Korn as I cannot stand their actual sound, all twangy bass and bad snare sound. Never got into the Deftones either.

I've always seriously hated Nu Metal. Korn was funny for a second when they did covers of nursery rhymes but, otherwise, the whole sub-genre (including Korn's other stuff) sounds absolutely terrible to me. If there's anybody out there into heavy music who feels like 'crunkcore' is an insulting joke .. that's how I feel about Nu Metal.

I wish I could express myself better here but the music is just so indescribably awful that words can't express my disgust.
