Which acts in this thread are media absorbed, and why is being absorbed a bad thing? Popularity doesn't make the music not quality. Even so LoG do a good job of pedaling themselves to the masses of idiots who haven't heard any real metal. LoG is about as mainstream and watered down as metal gets. Not to mention they're all over magazines and MTV so they're guilty of the same things you're harpooning non-offenders for.

The rest of your fanboyism rant is so ridiculous I'm not sure it deserves a response other than "LOL @ LOG BEING IN THEIR OWN GENRE"

Lacuna Coil - "Shallow Life" is the best for me for sure.

Just not even gonna' argue bro all I'm gonna say is I'm not defending lamb of god. These are just facts and I defend something a little deeper. You don't believe it that ain't my problem.

And i mean while I'm here I might as well add that they are extremely dynamic all the "watered down" **** and the other half clever insults don't mean much to me cause Lamb of God is constantly progressing and showing no signs of slowing down and no big words can change that, sorry dude. And they definitely deserve all the attention they are gettin' cause they are, in fact, true metal. Now I NEVER said that it lessened the quality in any way to be in the media. Even though it really does. There i just said it shoot me yeah catering to the nations every whim and following their trend just doesnt do it for me. And yeah maybe I had a poor choice of words and was accidentally lookin' at the wrong forum when I said that but you'll be ok I promise. I know you wanted an arguement so here it is bud. Fire away it don't mean **** though.

BWP is the one Opeth album I dislike listening to. Everything else they've released is top notch though.

Why is it that you dislike Blackwater Park, if you don't mind me asking?

It's a shame some of you have no fucking clue what you're talking about, otherwise your choices would make a bit more sense considering we're talking about 10 whole years of music here.

Specifically, the following is an example of a list of albums I liked, but which are also noticeably influential/stand out within their respective genres.

1. Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
2. Maudlin of the well - Bath
3. Tool - Lateralus
4. Radiohead - Kid A
5. D'Angelo - Voodoo
6. GY!BE - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
7. The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
8. The Tangent - A Place in the Queue
9. Pain of Salvation - Be
10. The Sound of Animals Fighting - Tiger & The Duke
