Highway_Star 01-13-2005 03:52 PM

Retro music programs that ignore rock totally for disco ****e!

itchytasty 01-13-2005 07:06 PM

something i hate about music?

nothing really, just when people start arguing over which band/genre is best... how pointless.

Kentucky Woman 01-14-2005 02:53 AM

Rap. I hate rap.

Sneer 01-14-2005 09:01 AM

pop-punk. its not so much the music, more the stupid little fans (im talking about the 13-16 year old age group) who claim to be rockers cos they like "blink 182" or "good charlotte" when really all they want to do is look cool and different- not really giving a **** about the music. yea..theres my rant. also, i hate bands like HIM and the Rasmus and everything that goes with them- including the fans who have miraculously started to like them as theyve got big.

MUSE girl 01-14-2005 09:39 AM

i hate it when people who are into rap and sh*t, say that all punk/rock/scar etc is, is shouting and screaming and there is no music, just noise. sit down and actually listen to some first before you past f***ing judgement!!!!!!! ggrrrrrrr!

ArtistInTheAmbulance 01-14-2005 09:49 AM

I hate:

Where people who listen to rock (for example) complain about people who listen to pop (for example) because the pop people are saying rock sucks. All the time they are complaining about this, they say how the pop people listen to sh*t.

How arrogant.

MUSE girl 01-14-2005 09:51 AM

i dont like pop, but i dont say its sh*t. different people like different things but its just when you get some tw*t that has a go, it like just f*ck off!

hookers with machineguns 01-14-2005 09:53 AM

I hate when people who listen to rock are actually listening to pop and don't realize it.

franscar 01-14-2005 10:39 AM

I hate it when I buy a cd and the disc itself is upside down in the box. Really irks me that does.

MUSE girl 01-14-2005 10:42 AM

^ does that actually happen?
i hate stratching a cd on running a track out, that really p*sses me off!

franscar 01-14-2005 10:43 AM

I mean when the cd box is one way, and the cd is the other so all the writing on the cd is upside down, or if there is a pattern that carries on across the cd artwork from the box that it gets disrupted.

Yes, it's geeky, but meh.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 01-14-2005 10:45 AM

No i get what you mean now, that is really annoying. Looks lame aswel.

MUSE girl 01-14-2005 10:56 AM

i understand, but i cant say ive had that happen to me. but it must be annoying anyway!

Sweet Jane 01-15-2005 03:12 PM

I hate when people make fun of someone's music taste and they are ignorant to what it is.

Out with my friends last week slagging me for listening to older bands like The Kinks and Jefferson Airplane, then 'Somebody to Love' came on, followed by 'You really got me' and they all screamed "I love this song!!" both times. Seriously...

Also hate my family laughing about my music taste, again without having the slightest clue what it is. They think I listen to rap music, because I'm not old and wrinky, basically. I'm pretty sure I could have saved them a fortune in Frank Sinatra and Otis Redding cds if only they'd stop taking the piss long enough to hear what's actually coming out my speakers

Sweet Jane 01-15-2005 03:18 PM

I also hate moshpits. I'm not adverse to a bit of jumping around, sweating and being up more up close and personal with hundreds of strangers than I would anywhere else. But I just don't get why people have to push each other around really hard.

i don't mind that, just as long as you don't bring me into it when i'm trying to enjoy a show.

i must say that i find crowd surfers are much more annoying.

pianolp325 01-15-2005 06:24 PM

u see rock concerts have goten away from being about the music and its more just a big party so we push each other around when we really like the song. I remember when people used to clap and sing along and watch the band.

Yeah my dad was the same , when I was in my early teens I`d listen to metal but by the time I hit 16 I became bored of it & branched out, but for some reason my dad kept on thinking I was into metal , even though I`d show him new stuff I got like The Stones or The Who.He`d come home with Smiths , Roxy Music , REM & Elvis Costello & i`d say to him 'I dunno why you got those for I already have them'.

jesus 01-15-2005 08:52 PM

I also hate people who say shit about a genre they don't know about. Like this asshole I was arguing with a couple days who thinks metal is superior to punk, when he was sitting there the whole time saying 'yeah blink-182 sucks punk sucks!'. Then he finds the lyrics to this song I like and tries to say something about it being about cats...it had nothing to do with fucking cats.

I hate people who refuse to accept the fact that all of those mainstream bands being passed off as punk aren't punk at all. And I hate it when people call you 'genre anal' for requesting a pop-punk forum for those bands to be discussed in...

word

MUSE girl 01-17-2005 12:14 PM

i think people need to no what they are talking about genre wise before they carry on about how **** the are!

Metal_Head 01-17-2005 12:30 PM

emo might be bad, but some people just throw away what they think is emo when they dont even bother to listen to how powerful some of it is... its called screamo. dont get it mixed up with emo. thats why i say screw all AFI haters because they think STS is emo trash. AFI owns you.

o, and i hate 102.7 KIIS FM... people think its the best station... it only plays really bad techno, rap, and hip-hop... in fact, there is no best station... not until they make a station that plays Atreyu, A7X, and Zao.

Fenixpunk 01-17-2005 12:32 PM

i think alot of these kids may not know any differant. If my first run in with punk was a blink 182 video then id assume that is what punk is. After all not everyone has the sources to get good music where they live especially good underground punk. As much as i dislike pop-punk, it serves its purpose.

ahahahahahaha... so true right there.

Amo Pheara 01-17-2005 12:41 PM

When people go on and on about how a great a band is and that anyone who dislikes them have no taste in music.

MUSE girl 01-17-2005 12:45 PM

yeah thats true, i mean i love MUSE, but if someone then posted saying that they sucked then i would be like ok they ent that bad but thats totally your opinion and i respect that.

Sweet Jane 01-17-2005 01:01 PM

Muse Suck!

ZutonFever840 01-18-2005 03:09 PM

Harsh.

TheBig3 01-18-2005 08:00 PM

I hate artists that say "I want to change my sound every album" because you know they A.) can't and B.) are just saying it to sound artistic and edgy. Its cliche and dumb.

Most recently Howie Day (who's intolerable from the get go) said this and im thinking "I'd bet you can't play any other genre." In all honesty, he plays guitar and I think its hardest to play funk jazz or metal on guitar. I'd put down good money that says not only does he not listen to that, but that he can't play it anyway.

Similar to this is "were gunna take it to the next level on our next CD." Most bands that say something this vauge are making **** up hoping people will buy their albums. You don't have fore though, you write abstract songs about the same crap everyone else did. Next level for most acts that say that means more commercial. Instead of next level I wish they'd say next tax bracket.

pianolp325 01-18-2005 08:32 PM

I hate the lack of respect for peoples art across the border. I hate when people say they hate rap tho they know nothing about it and I hate when people say they hate rock tho they know nothing about. Take the time to listen to some other ****. And pop music isnt bad music. Commercial sucess doesnt not determine if its bad music or not. Hilary duff is poppy **** but a band that works hard and makes it in the industry and gets famous does not mean its bad cause they are popular. Their are two types of music good music and bad music. And that is all in ones opinion.

I also hate how race really has put a divide in music. Its amazing how eminem gets airtime on kroq but when Jayz(LP collab) gets played white people call in and say they dont wanna hear rap. I also hate how people feel a certain genre is their own. emo does not have to be just for the "emo" kids(ill never understand that) nor does rap have to only be for gangsta black people. Its all just ****ed up.

i hate people who say "i wanna start listening to rock, d'you have any cds you could lend me?" just like if they listen to it today, everyone will erase all those years of that person listening to pop or i dunno, something different...anyways, you get the point...
ah, or those who say "nah, i don't have any fave bands" and then hear a catchy song and the next day they go "oh, remember that song we heard yesterday? that band's my favorite now" ugh, makes me throw up

Hung In Rent (Molasses) 01-19-2005 03:01 AM

Yuck, I know many people like that.
I don't like when I buy a CD with your friends and then when you get back to your house they expect you to burn it for them and they don't even like that band.

SoldMySoul 01-19-2005 09:05 AM

Music itself is one of the most important things in pretty much all of our lives .. i think i can speek for everyone here when i say it. but one thing that really bugs me is when people are criticisized for having there own opinion. ya know?

nothing_special 01-20-2005 11:27 PM

I hate it when someone pretends to like a certain band just because they think the band is "cool" or whatever. Example: I had some friends over one night and we had been listening to The Ramones for like and hour and all of a sudden someone blurts out "Put in The Ramones."
