Love, love, love Tool. I have their entire discography and never get tired of them.

New album in 2013 must mean 2013 tour, coming here to the states as hinted by the band. First time seeing them live, have heard nothing but the best about their live shows.

I saw them a few years ago and they live up to the hype. Their live performance is superior to their studio albums, and that's saying something.

Just sayin'.

If anyone here who is into Tool hasn't gotten into Karnivool already, they should
I dunno about Karnivool. They also sound like a complete rip-off of Tool to me. Lots of people down here are crazy about them. I don't really see them offering anything much else.

So true. It's as if most people think Maynard plays all the instruments. He writes nothing more than his lyrics and plays nothing more than his vocal chords. He's an integral member of the band, but he himself admitted he was pretentious.

Still, the lyrics are usually amazing, but they are often too disguised and the meaning concealed by hackneyed metaphors. I'd prefer lyrics that just throw a meaning at my face, like Ed Gein. Blunt, sweet and short, straighttothepoint words right there. And quite funny, too.

If you listen to Tool and don't praise Danny's drumming, you're doing something wrong...

I actually think Adam is my least favorite member. I have no problem with him, and I think he's a great guitarist but the other 3 blow me away.

danny carey gets a ton of attention. both in the drumming world and the music world in general. and maynard actually plays a huge role in the arrangements, and also plays guitar and synths.

he says he writes his lyrics in such a way that he's not telling people how to think. he uses a vast array of archetypes and metaphors so the listener can have their own unique, personal experience that is largely the result of their own perception. it can get pretty confusing at times, and maybe a little frustrating, but tool wouldn't be tool if it were any other way.

i've had a hard time trying to find another band that can touch what these guys do for me. they reach inside you and start fistf*cking your soul. i've seen them live four times, and it's almost strange that they ceaselessly outperform their recordings. their sound-crew is clearly among the most dedicated in the world. not to mention the visuals. i highly recommend going to one on psychedelics. i did. aside from the spiritual aspect of it, i danced with my eyes closed the whole time and was somehow able to reinvent my understanding of odd time signatures and their relation to groove. my head has never been the same since.

I've also heard it's been delayed. But I wouldn't count on it.
