A lot of the others you mentioned could be classed as either of those two things as well really.

I guess whenever i think of ridiculous metal band names its usually a fairly awful attempt at something aggressive, outrageous, horrific or offensive.

Well I'm just horridly ignorant of that kind of music. The only thing that comes close I suppose are a few black metal bands but all of those have Swedish names... :)

When you think about it, most band names are really stupid. xD

Some of them work i think, especially for death metal. A band should really select a name that best suits their sound but some bands just take it too far.
