Youthanasia was okay. It had some Countdown-ish songs on there.
Their most underrated album has to be The World Needs a Hero. Signalled their return to Thrash metal.

Megadeth's one of my favorite bands, hence my username. I love Mustaine, his attitude, his playing, his singing. he's freakin awesome. Here's some of my favorite songs, and some brilliant performances as well;

The System Has Failed has my all time favorite song in "Blackmail the Universe", but I am loving UA, and Endgame. I also have their Greatest Hits for obvious reasons. I'm a sucker for production value and duets, so I do like the new version of A Tout Le Monde more. It's missing a bit of that dark feeling, but it sounds so awesome!

I'd just like to note the intro solo to Headcrusher is fantastic.

I went to the midnight sale for Countdown to Extinction and won a watch that went backwards. :p: Danzig's III: How the Gods Kill was released the same day.

I got into Megadeth my freshman year of high school, I think it was before Rust in Peace came out. I really loved Peace Sells and So Far So Good So What, and then they released that epic "Hangar 18" video for Rust in Peace and wow, that shit was amazing! What an amesome video that was at the time (the long version of course). That whole album just blew me away, I still consider it one of my favorite metal albums. And then as I said Countdown to Extinction came out and I liked it quite a bit but it was a bit watered down compared to Rust in Peace. Still great though. I'm sure Rust in Peace felt that way to the die-hards too when it came out.

Nowadays I only listen to them once in a while. I downloaded the remasters to replace my tapes, and did repurchase Rust in Peace on CD because it's so awesome. I never checked out anything beyond Countdown though. I'm not sure I would really like it all that much. Even on the occasion that I hear a song from Countdown on shuffle, I don't like the sound all that much. Something about it, can't match their best stuff.

Music was a unifying medium for youth with no political bull**** . Mustaine was off his head, tried to fight a member of the audience, called a fan with glasses four eyes, then proceeded to ramble on about how fans didn't deserve to see Megadeth as the Ferry strike at the time made him think the Irish weren't worth the effort to play for.

He was himself at his lowest point with drugs etc, i acknowledge that

But the disgust came in the various forms where he made statements like "War and Power to the IRA" "This next song is dedicated to the (IRA) cause" and many other political and saddening comments for the cross community fan base to have to listen to

He rambled on a few times about but completely denied it in the press saying instead he only made a comment about supporting "the cause" because of a discussion with a bootleg t shirt seller and it was a misinterpretation

He denys all other comments to this day. He once told metal hammer that Holy Wars was written with Northern Ireland in mind and he'd never make such statements, its all fizzled out now but we still think he's an ******* over here

I'm not much a of Megadeth fan but I do have to say I saw them live in 1997 and they were pretty damn good.

It's an easy band to criticize because even the most loyal Megadeth fans, unless delirious, will have to admit that Dave Mustaine can be a bit of a douche. The concert in Ireland is a good example. His behaviour loses him friends and band members. He seems to always be involved in some kind of bitch-fight.

To really like them, I think you just have to come to terms with all that and just appreciate them for the music :p:

He can indeed toretordon, just can't seem to help himself. I have heard some good reports about the latest album but i'm just no longer interested in them.

Randy from Lamb of God has a little "Mustaine Syndrome" too in my opinion
