Personally I don't care about the lyrical content in music at all really, it's all about the vocal delivery for me.
I'm the opposite, lyrics for me. Not fussed about the vocal delivery as much, unless you're Jeff Buckley.

Yeah, I don't really care about the lyrics on their own, to me vocals are just another instrument. They can tell an interesting story but it's not necessary, if you have a good enough voice you can sing about just f*cking anything.

I mean, Yes and Radiohead are among my favorite bands even if I don't always particularly know what their songs are about because their lyrics can be pretty cryptic and impenetrable.

Then there's bands like Sigur Ros and Magma who pretty much sing in made up gibberish.

It'd have to take some really annoying vocals to deter me, I have a high tolerance.
As long as the music's good and they are singing about something proper and something I can relate to. Unless like you say, they're too cryptic to really work out. Them type of songs just draw you in, it's the not knowing that appeals to me. Although you got to love straight up fun rock n roll where all they're singing about is drugs sex and rock n roll.

Tom Gabriel Fischer from Celtic Frost

What a great band ruined by horrendous vocals.

Eh. Lyrics aren't important to me at all, unless the music sucks and then the lyrics stick out.

I mean, I'm not a socialist or an anarchist, but I enjoy a lot of punk bands who express these ideals.

I enjoy bands like AC/DC, GnR, Deep Purple and so on despite having some questionable sexist lyrics.

And so on.

I saw him live. He started trash talking Eddie Vedder for being a liberal hippie or whatever.

Yeah he was a douche.

I don't like Deep Purple. try as I might to get into them just doesn't happen.

Sexist lyrics are always good, despite being a bit... simple. I enjoy songs where I have no idea what they're singing about. The Shins are having that effect on me as of late, really loose cryptic lyrics and I'm not totally sure what they're about, but I'm drawn in anyway.

I love Eddie Vedder's vocals.

When I hear PJ on the radio I like to imitate Eddie's vocals and facial expressions, I love the horrified reactions people have.
