The singer of Coheed and Cambria annoys me. He goes into falsetto waaay too much

Have you heard Coheed and Cambria?

It's pretty bad. Not saying all falsetto is bad, but this guy is like 300 pound man trying to sound like a little japanese girl. It's beyond ridiculous. He HAS to be considered for the list of worst voices.

That's actually part of the appeal I find in the band, to be honest. Obviously, I can see how some people would be annoyed about it, but I happen to enjoy it just because he sounds really different from a lot of singers. I love odd sounding voices. That's part of the reason I got into the Smashing Pumpkins and Rush.

Of course I have. I'm not crazy about his voice but it doesn't bother me much.

Maybe cuz I'm a Rush and Pumpkins fan.

In general, falsetto is probably my favorite vocal range. One thing I hate about a lot of indie is the dull baritone vocals.

Curtis pulled it off, but with a lot of indie kids now it seems like half assed imitation.

He hardly ever goes into falsetto though. His chest voice can just go really high.

I have to say Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
Obviously he must have something because the band was rather popular, but to me he sounds like what I imagine a poor cat getting ran over by a lawn mower would sound like. But that's just IMO.

bob dylan's 'bad' voice is part of the appeal though. it's like how tom waits wouldn't be tom waits if he had a perfect voice.

I think that we all saw this coming...

...even if people don't take this band seriously, this 'voice' has to be mentioned.
