1. Strictly opinion, doesn't make it a bad song.
2. Sounds nothing like Pink Floyd, which band are you listening to?
3. So?
4. That's the same as 3.
5. Since when can't a mellow song not be metal?
6. Again, opinion.

To me, Slayer's run in the 80s and early 90s was even better than Metallica's run in the 80s.

Not to mention, Metallica completely sucked ass after that run, and produced some of the albums that I hate the most. Not because of how bad the music is, the music is still there sometimes, and honestly, the quality of the work is better than a lot of other music. The thing that gets me is how dramatically they changed their style starting with the Black Album.

Hetfield just can't pull it off trying to sing like that. Every time I hear one of the Unforgiven songs I just about vomit.

Not that Slayer has been releasing anything decent for a while now, and dat nu metal album.... Eesh.... Still better than The Unforgiven II.

As far as metal is concerned, sure. But that's like saying a scooter gets better gas mileage then a semi.

I'm not sure I understand this simile. Which band is the scooter and which is the semi?

Areyou serious? When it's Nothing Else Matters! There's NOTHING "metal" about it! There's not even a distorted guitar in it!

Calling NEM a metal song is like calling Lady Gaga"punk rock".

You want a mellow metal song? Fade To Black. That is a mellow metal song.

I'd have to say that I like Metallica better than Slayer. I just prefer Metallica's more mainstream style over Slayer's Death Metal influenced style.

Not brilliant but certainly not bad.

Just because it's slow doesn't make it wimpy.

2. Sounds like Pink Floyd
We're obviously listening to two different Pink Floyds then.

3. It's mellow
Metal bands are no strangers to doing mellow stuff.

4. It's easy listening
It's called accessibility.

Quote:
5. it's not METAL
Metal bands are allowed to deviate from the norm.

6. it's lame
Try and use grown up language.

To be fair it's still an awful song.

Actually I don't mind it, it's no better or worse than any other song designed to shift millions of units.
