It depends. If it's a good song, I don't mind some awesome heavy growling and such. I don't get turned away by it. Slipknot just never had any good songs to go with the grrrrrrr.

You may like Opeth. Has growling, but it has clean vocals, too, not to mention it's just good music all around.

No. AC are intense, loud, abrasive, somewhat obnoxious, but very charming.

possibly dimmu borgir are about the worst band(if you call them that) i have ever had to let my ears ever suffer ii can quite safely say id rather see fred durst make an arse of himself in a music video than ever listen to them again :P
