|
Geezus, 'I'm Designer' is friggin awesome
|
never got into them? whats a good album?
|
I'd never really listened to them before either, i just got the new album off the link in this thread (cheers) and would recommend that one
|
A band capable of brilliance and mediocrity in equal measure. NO ONE KNOWS is a stone wall classic, but the album is so patchy. Heard the new singls (sick, sick, sick) and like it, but still trepidatious about the album.

^I think Songs for the Deaf is an awesome album with No One Knows being the weakest track on it.

^^^
and that's why Music will always intrigue me. Two completely contrasting opinions-who's right? |
neither in my opinion WHEY.
i think songs for the deaf is an amazing album, and i also think no one knows is an amazing song. Indeed i think qotsa's first three albums are all brilliant in different ways. the first is a masterclass in stoner rock, cool and measured. The second is a lot more confrontational lyrically and thematically whilst being generally funkier and more agressive. it also contains some great pop songs. the third is an all out hard rock album, it sounds as if the shackles have come off and they've just gone for it. i think its their peak. Unfortunatley i think they've lost their way with the last two. Sacking Oliveiri wasnt smart and Homme seems to be merely fulfilling his own agendas and ego. They just dont have 'IT' anymore. |
I like Songs for the deaf the most, but Lullabies is pretty close...it's got a shitload of catchy tunes on it. I'm not diggin' Era Vulgaris too much...apart from the singles.
On a bright note, I'm seeing them tonight!!!...:yeah: |
Lullabies is my favorite album, some great catchy songs on it that I can easily get into, I dig these guys :D
