Queens of the Stone Age

not hugely impressed by their new release, "little sister" but songs for the death to me was amazing. favourite track by far is go with the flow followed by god is on the radio and first it giveth. rated R was ok while not brilliant, and their selk titled debut didnt impress hugely, but hey, their obviously improving with each album so lullabies to paralyze may be their best yet. what do guys think of them?

itchytasty 03-02-2005 03:25 PM

i like their self titled the best. the other two are tied for second.

good stuff, i must say.

blackTshirt 03-03-2005 12:22 AM

yep, like "go with the flow" too ;)

Delicate 03-03-2005 04:24 PM

ladyluckrules 04-03-2005 04:12 PM

'cause he got really p!ssed at amazon for not getting lullabies to paralyze to him quicker

ArtistInTheAmbulance 04-03-2005 04:15 PM

I do, havent got Lullabies to Paralyze yet though, can anyone who has tell me if it's worth buying please?

ladyluckrules 04-03-2005 04:16 PM

Sneer 04-03-2005 04:18 PM

big QOTSA fan but havent got lullabies to paralyze yet. songs for the death is one of my favourite albums ever though.

ladyluckrules 04-03-2005 04:19 PM

listen to it on hmv.co.uk or something

my signature is from the song 'go with the flow'

Sneer 04-03-2005 04:22 PM

second best song on SFTD, god is on the radio is the best.

ladyluckrules 04-03-2005 04:23 PM

dont want a new mistake, losers take what winners make so on and so forth.

xXIcy Halls of SobreityXx 04-03-2005 04:54 PM

I need to get Lullabies to Paralyze cause it has the music video to Someone's In The Wolf.

Sweet Jane 04-03-2005 06:01 PM

Lullabies to Paralyze is alright, I wasn't impressed with Little Sister, I just expected more but the song grows on you as does the new album. Its still worth buying, as was Songs for the Deaf but nothing really comparing to Rated R.

I cancelled it in the end, 2 weeks after it came out they still hadn`t sent it.I went out & bought it myself in the end.

It`s alright , it`s no songs for the deaf or rated r though

lol i actually really dislike rated R and love songs for the death.

hookers with machineguns 04-04-2005 02:29 PM

^ you mean, Songs for the Deaf. Sorry, I just keep seeing people post "Songs for the Death" and it's slightly (just slightly) irritating. Sorry to be anal. Pretty good album, btw. Havent heard the new one, dont know if i'll ever get around to it.

my mistake. just got into the habit of saying death.

itchytasty 04-04-2005 03:12 PM

i don't know if i'm alone on this, but i think their self titled is their best album...

xXIcy Halls of SobreityXx 04-05-2005 10:25 PM

I agree with you itchytasty that their self-titled is their best album

WrongTaste 04-06-2005 06:39 AM

QOTSA rulez in every way; no doubt about that!

walkin' dude 04-18-2005 09:48 AM

I've got lullabies to paralyze, and I think it's great. probably not as heavy as their other albums but it's got quite a few stand out tracks on it... check out tracks 4,5,6,8,10,12,14.
but it's a cool album to just let play through.

by the way, it's their first album i'm least impressed by, only got about four good songs on it, rated R was the album I that got me into them and then I got their back catalogue and the next two albums after that songs for the deaf and lullabies to paralyze. all three over all are amazing albums but I just have favorite songs rather than favorite albums.

What about their first album makes such an impactful impression on you?

I like 2 and 3.

walkin' dude 04-19-2005 09:58 AM

Not a lot, thats why I only like four songs of it, but when I got it, I had only just heard of queens of the stone age, and rated R was so good I decided to go out and any other albums I could find by them, and that was the first self titled one.
Have you heard the lastest album yet?

gregb 04-19-2005 10:00 AM

Anyone else think little sister is a boring song?

No I don't, I think thats QOTSA's bread and butter man. Just pop enough, rock guitars, and who can forget "more cowbell"

yeah your likely right, that is their style

marko1892 04-20-2005 01:50 AM

I have LTP but havent really listened to it that much yet, saying that though the times i have listened to it, it seems ok. I doubt it will ever match songs for the deaf mind you.

i don't know, really. i have listened to the first three many times, and i just enjoy the first more than the other two.

it's just really relaxed, i suppose.

Sneer 04-20-2005 03:46 PM

songs for the death is the highlight of their career for me. so far.

stonedpath 04-26-2005 04:13 PM

lullabies to paralyze reminds me of an acid trip

adidasss 05-01-2005 08:49 AM

TheBig3 05-01-2005 09:16 AM

Ill just add to LedSepStu:

The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret

And why you wouldn't put "no one knows" on there, I don't know.

I havn't heard the new CD, so i can't help ya there.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 05-01-2005 09:17 AM

Good list, but No One Knows gets tiring... Its an awesome song, Ill grant you that, but Ive heard it so many times it seems to have lost its meaning...

Sneer 05-01-2005 09:19 AM

monsters in the parasol should be added. No one Knows is good but ive heard it too much.
