Right I agree but that doesn't mean its not one of their best songs.

Sneer 05-01-2005 09:26 AM

lets just say i prefer the songs i put in my list. granted, still a good song.

Imonlydancing 05-01-2005 11:31 AM

Go with the Flow is one of the best in my opinion.

itchytasty 05-01-2005 02:56 PM

In the Fade
If Only
A Song for the Dead

this may sound like a dumb question but are there 2 singers on songs for the deaf? someone other the josh? because it seems that way to me....

oh and best songs on songs for the deaf for me are:you think i ain't ..., no one knows, first it giveth, the sky is fallin', go with the flow,do it again, another love song...i'm a bit belated with the whole QOTSA obsession, i kinda liked them but really started to love them after hearing them live....simply amazing sorta dirty guitar sound...mphhh...and his voice is so perfect.....not to mention that he has an amazing stage presence...ultra cool....

TheBig3 10-02-2005 06:55 PM

Mark Lanagan (or however you spell it english nazi) from the screaming tree... "i nearly, I nearly lost you there"

boo boo 10-02-2005 08:00 PM

Awesome band.

Songs for the Deaf, buy it NOW. :D

beardovstars 10-03-2005 12:21 AM

the s/t debut is the best. In fact I say it is the best rock record since 1980..well maybe the best since kyuss broke up.
plus I reckon ltp with dave grohl drumming would have been a rock masterpiece. no offence to chuck biscuits but a 10 outta ten record coula been a timeless classic with dave on the skins.
Yes I liked it.

Josephine 10-03-2005 07:00 AM

Well, I can't deny that their debut was like wow - unique (might be because of Grohl's drum part in "No one knows"), but nevertheless: "Lullabies To Paralyze" is a good album. I like the singles "Little Sister" and "In My Head" as well as "Burn The Witch" or "Lullaby". Josh Homme's voice is really distinctive, I love it.
And I saw an acoustic concert of QotSA live in Berlin... Really really cool...

adidasss 10-03-2005 03:59 PM

4 people sing lead vocals on that album , Josh Homme , Nick Oliveri , Mark Lanegan & Gene Ween.

Gene Ween is from the band Ween.

adidasss 10-03-2005 04:12 PM

so the queens were sorta a supergroup on songs for the deaf ey?
i also wanted to say something else about them, even though i really like some songs by them, and songs for the deaf is a good album, i don't think it's perfect ( like some critics say ) , i didn't like some 5 songs off it, and lullabies to paralyse sorta decreased in the quality, i love their sound but after 4 albums they still haven't made a truly awsome album that would solidify their position as the gratest rock band in the world...so i'm starting to think they lack a bit on the talent and songwriting department.....was songs for the deaf better because all those different artists were on it thus making it great? does that mean that josh by himself isn't capable of writing an amazing 5 star album? because it's starting to feel that way to me.....

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-03-2005 04:14 PM

Rated R was just as good as Songs For The Deaf , In my opinion.

adidasss 10-03-2005 04:23 PM

were they 5 star albums, for you?

I know that it is their 3rd one. I meant to say that it was the first one in this constellation - but that wouldn't be true regarding their fourth one... cause that would be another debut... Hmmm, forget what I meant to say... It was only crap...

Anyway, I like "R Rated", because of "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer", "Auto Pilot" and "I think I lost My Headache"... But "Lullabies To Paralyze" would be my favourite one.

Maybe if Rated R is 4.5 , songs for the deaf would be somthing like 4.4444444

TheBig3 10-03-2005 07:43 PM

Queens is a constantly evolving super group with Homme the only stable point. In a way, he;s like Zappa or Waits, hes very good but technical, and so good musicians want jam with him.

imspiderman 10-03-2005 10:23 PM

they have a distinct sound.. and i cant get Enough of the COW BELL!

R u L e B r E a K e r 10-04-2005 04:15 AM

Kripes 04-16-2006 07:35 PM

QOTSA is a really enjoyable band. Their dvd/cd release was a big dissapointment to me however.

Music Is Pwnage 04-17-2006 04:11 PM

Underrated! They need more credit for what they do!!!

swim 04-17-2006 04:13 PM

Cheese 04-18-2006 01:58 AM

The song that got me into them was the bonus/throwaway track from Songs For The Deaf, "Mosquito Song". A mate had it playing in his car and said he didn't know who it was. I thought it was awful, but it ended up being one of those songs that grows on you.

Sneer 04-18-2006 02:25 AM

have you said anything of intelligence or relevance yet?
and i generally think QOTSA are the best american of the past 6 years. no doubt.

Cheese 04-18-2006 02:26 AM

Whatever you're smoking, keep the sh*t away from me!

Edit: not you Ledzepstu.

Cheese 04-18-2006 02:32 AM

Whatever.

Sneer 04-18-2006 02:36 AM

dont stoop to his level cheeseman. he is not worth the brain cells.

Yeah, it does hurt stooping down to the gutter..........No more:)

30stm 04-18-2006 03:05 PM

It's worth buying. <3 QOTSA rock.

Merkaba 04-18-2006 10:19 PM

The song, The Sky Is Falling really pisses me off. It's not a bad tune, it's just such an irritatingly long and repetitive 6 minutes.

Other then that I bloody love them to pieces. Go with the Flow is one of my favourites. Josh Homme deserves knighthood.

Laces Out Dan! 04-18-2006 10:21 PM

I find that with a lot of Their music....Repetiveness...and it kinda pisses me off

Nikie Pentagram 04-19-2006 04:39 AM

Everyone I know says that Little Sister was their best song. I then ask them if they've actually *heard* any other songs - then, the subject is changed. I adored Burn the Witch, Never Came and Medication. I've only listened to their album `Lullabies to Paralyse`, perhaps I should listen to their others next.

Scarlett O'Hara 04-19-2006 11:17 PM

I'm not sure about QOTSA. I have heard a few of their songs, but can't decide whether to go a little further. Their recent singles have been pretty catchy.

ShadowSurfer 04-20-2006 12:33 AM

While very enjoyable at first, Their sound got boring to me rather quickly.

Sneer 04-20-2006 03:41 AM

to be fair their last album was alot different to their previous 3. LTP is softer and more mainstream, whereas the other 3 are harder, faster and louder. could you seriously imagine "in my head" on rated "R"?

MURDER JUNKIE 04-20-2006 04:03 AM

Harder Faster Louder = BETTER

I don't understand why people get so moist over this band, Kyuss was miles better

Merkaba 04-20-2006 04:13 AM

Here MJ, let me buy you a keg.

MURDER JUNKIE 04-20-2006 04:17 AM

normally I hate accepting charity, however we are talking about a keg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...lap/woohoo.gif
