Not a big fan of Alcest. Les Discrets do it so much better. And I don't really like Windir either. Atmospheric BM has its place, like with Vhernen and Totalselfhatred's Debut, but a lot of the time you need some ****ed up the ass pregnant with ****ing riffs BM.

That's not to say I don't enjoy Negura Bunget a **** tonne. Drudkh are pretty silly, imho, but I love Altar of Plagues. They really hit their stride with the latest effort.

Could anyone recommend some similar artists in the Black Metal genre who are similar to Alcest and Agalloch? I find Alcest's shoegaze/black metal hybrid to be brilliant. I've been meaning to check out Deathspell Omega (idk if their sound is similar to the two mentioned above). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm just starting to listen to them, but Blut Aus Nord might be up your alley if you like shoegaze black metal. They have a very avant-garde-what-the-****-is-that-supposed-to-be kinda style.

I will check them out. What's the consensus on Wolves in the Throneroom?

I've only recently started really getting into black metal, so I have no expert opinion, but i thought that Wolves In the Throneroom were pretty awesome.
