I'd take Switchfoot anyday over As I Lay Dying...

I like them both but for different reasons, Relient K for being catchy but Switchfoot because it makes me reflect on life in general.

I listen to Switchfoot when I start to get a little depressed with life and it ends up cheering me up.

Thousand Foot Krutch or Relient K are pretty good christian bands, strong in their beliefs

I, as an incredibly devout follower of Jesus, have only one thing to say about "Christian rock."

Most of it sucks. So, so much. I can't STAND turning on the Christian radio stations, because 90% of the music makes me want to vomit.

That said, there are a TINY handful of Christian rock bands that I like.

That said, explicitly worship music, not just a label like "Christian rock" has alot going for it right now, what with the likes of Jake Hamilton, Jesus Culture, and John Mark McMillan really going outside the box for what modern church music can sound like. Yes they all use some rock chords, but I would hesitate to call any of them rock bands (or artists. Whatever.) And dang can they make a joyful noise for the Lord, so to speak. It's more than a positive message. It's music from people who know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are communicating with a praising the creator of the universe.

...I really hope thy made any sense at all. It's late and I'm tired.

Is Live considered Christian rock? I always heard they were, and i've grown fond of a few of their songs.

No, but they have a lot of heavy Christian themes. They are far better than any band with a self-proclaimed "Christian rock" label and a great band all together.

Good "Christian Rock" acts- Jars of Clay, DC Talk, Sixpence and I believe GUS GUS.

This is the only Christian Rock song I've ever heard that was good.

I've heard people say that before but I've never understood why. Maybe I'm totally misunderstanding them, but these lyrics from them always struck me as anti-Christian if anything:

Heard a lot of talk about this Jesus
A man of love, and a man of strength
But what a man was two thousand years ago
means nothing at all to me today
