I'm too busy being obsessed with anime at the moment to listen to these albums again, but since I've heard them both (or enough of them at least), I'll vote anyway. Enslaved rule. Vertebrae is a kick ass record, and Meshuggah is boring and makes me wanna listen to Britney Spears for some honest emotional connection.

Enslaved - 5
Meshuggah - 2

For me it's pretty hard to beat the off-kilter, punishing groove of Meshuggah (though I prefer Nothing over Obzen). Wasn't that impressed with Enslaved. It struck me as musically very polite for metal, almost like I was listening to some metal version of adult contemporary.

Enslaved - 5
Meshuggah - 3

This battle will be changed over in the next 24hrs and if Enslaved win, it will be something of an upset.

Same here, especially when they're up against a band that really is boring.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Tomas Haake's chops yet, dude's like a ****ing legend. Pretty sure a whole drum software sample library is either modeled after him or taken directly from him.
