Here's my question: Why is the cowbell higher in the mix on Too Fast for Love than everything else? Was it produced by Christopher Walken? Anyway, it's not a bad album but damn does Vince Neil suck. I've never understood why he was even in the band. With some better singer on the mic—and less prominent cowbell—Too Fast for Love might have stood a chance against Stay Hungry, but as it is Twisted Sister mops the floor with Motley Crue here.

Motley Crue - 3
Twisted Sister - 2

Dude, I love the cowbell. It just ups the fun ante on the album. It's the only good thing Tommy Lee ever did (and I'm including Pamela Anderson, who looks like God made a perfectly good woman's body and then decided to give it the head of a Cabbage Patch Doll).

I used to have the original album on cassette and whenever I would play it the drums were so high in the mix they would almost blow my speakers.

On the CD release they're still loud but they seem to have been turned down a little.

I don't think that was Tommy Lee.

You still haven't told us what's the greatest?

I'm gonna stop now, cause I could go on about the things that I love about this album. So yeah, my vote definitely goes to the Crue.
I never knew he used to be in a Cheap Trick tribute band, we all learn something new every day In fact I've always thought the best song on the album was "Merry Go Round" which actually sounds like a Cheap Trick song.

I always thought Vince Neil was a bad singer and seemed to get progressively worse over the years, a pity really as I like his style of sleazy delivery.

As for the voting. I've never been a huge fan of Motley Crue despite the fact that the debut is pretty groundbreaking and essential in the glam metal sub-genre. Stay Hungry on the other hand is a great album and so easily wins this face-off.

Motley Crue -3
Twisted Sister -3

I gave the Crue album a re-listen. I remember liking it but was never heavily into it. To me, the sound is a little weak, like they did a lot of cocaine during the recording but it would have been better if they'd done a little bit more. Stay Hungry has always been more fun for me.

Twisted Sister: 4
Motley Crue: 3

Vince ruins the band if anything. Big reason why I don't like them. They could of been good if he was out of the picture.
