No. They are a symbol of grammatical oppression and I want them gone.

The Batlord 09-06-2012 09:25 AM

Am I to assume that your new avatar is a symbol of your questions about your gender now that you're no longer shackled to the yoke of religious oppression? Should we call you Conina now?

I think we should make every off topic post an automatic vote for this....

Yes. Ravage me, Howard the Duck.

I'll leave the score as it is, unless HHBH states who his vote is going to. Also anybody that hasn't voted should do so, as this war will be changed over tomorrow for one that Janszoon has suggested.

Motley Crue- 5
Twisted Sister -4

Please don't put this thread off topic. We were discussing Conan being a tranny.

Meh, it turns out Crue is a big influence on lots of bands I like (midnight, speedwolf, tigerjunkies, etc.). So I gave them a listen... and they're pretty ****ing good. I think "Bastard" is their best track, though.

Alright, since even this douche likes Motley Crue, I think they should be declared the winners. ;)

"Douchebag-metal" would be a good way of describing what I look for in metal bands.

Or pretty much not bother with any other albums considering their collective winnings. :P

Janszoon 09-07-2012 02:23 PM

Maiden.

Next up are 6 diverse metal EP's suggested by Janszoon.

EP Roulette:
Six Metal EPs, of Various Sub-Genres, Arranged in a Random Order

Muhr Shepherd/Blood 2010
http://www.metal-archives.com/images...03662.jpg?1710

Versus

Inside the Beehive Drink Bleach; Live Forever 2011

Howard the Duck 09-09-2012 02:00 AM

it's more of a contest between sub-genres than the contents themselves and how they match up to others of their ilk, i find that Muhr bloody boring, and it really drags. However, that Beehive is pretty energetic metalcore/mathcore wateva

Inside the Beehive - 1
Muhr - 0

Not unless you choose to make it that. Just pick the EP you like better.

well, in that case, i'd still like that Beehive better

Rjinn 09-09-2012 08:02 AM

Gave both a listen and have to agree with Duck about Muhr - Shepherd/Blood. Man it just drags out. Drink Bleach was a lot more exciting and interchangeable but I couldn't really stand the vocals. Still better than Muhr.

Muhr - 0
Inside the Beehive - 2

Unknown Soldier 09-09-2012 10:54 AM

Now I really liked the Muhr EP which is something of a surprise really. I always claim to be a doom metal fan but frequently get bored with doom metal albums usually for their lack of variety and their ability to really drag on. The Muhr EP just got it right and there were enough atmospheric sections to keep me interested for the whole time. Not much of a fan of Mathcore and the Inside the Beehive was much as expected.

TBH I have to agree with Howard here, that a lot of these votes for this war may actually come down to sub-genre vs sub genre rather than taking each EP as it is.

Muhr- 1
Inside the Beehive- 2

I disagree. I generally like doom a lot more than grindcore or whatever type of core that Inside the Beehive is, but I like the Drink Bleach; Live Forever EP a lot more than the Shepherd/Blood EP.

Side note: It's nice to see some music here that even mediafire doesn't care about enough to delete.

Inside the Beehive: 3
Mühr: 1

mmm, fruity buns.

Janszoon 09-11-2012 09:34 AM

This is a really tough call for me, I love both of these EPs. I just gave both of them fresh listens and I think I'm going to give my vote to Mühr. Inside the Beehive are fantastic and the EP is one of favorite recent discoveries, but the Mühr EP is just so vast and austere sounding, it really transports me to somewhere very much like the mountain on the cover.

Inside the Beehive: 3
Mühr: 2
