Rick Rozz played with Death on "Lepracy" so there is a Death connection.

Brutality for me. I loved the riffs a lot better than the other two. And I agree, the spoken sections of Resurrection were really cheesy and kinda killed it for me

Brutality - 3
Massacre - 2
Resurrection - 0

If you were a Vincent Price fan, I`m sure you`d feel differently.

Oh damn good battle this week. I love every one of those records. But the one I come back to the most is Ensiferum

Ensiferum-1
Finntroll-0
Wintersun-0

Ensiferum-1
Finntroll-0
Wintersun-1

I feel like the Wintersun album is the most exciting one out of those three.

I really don't have a taste for folk/viking/pagan (whatever you want to call it) metal, however I felt like the Ensiferum record encompasses all that the genre should be. I also really enjoyed the production techniques and the seamless transitions from song to song.

I can respect the musicianship of Wintersun and the talent of Jari Mäenpää in particular, but without his original Ensiferum bandmates, his work just falls short for me.

The Finntroll album was over the top in all the wrong ways. I found it really cumbersome to listen to.

Ensiferum-2
Finntroll-0
Wintersun-1

I've tried really hard to get into Ensiferum, but the only album I can listen to by them is their 2007 one Victory Songs. So with them out of the running I'm going to have to go with Finntroll. I've always had an appreciation for their dedication to their theme, and Jaktens Tid is an incredibly catchy album for me. While I really do like that Wintersun album and am waiting patiently for Time to see the light of day, but Finntroll have a good three albums I like to come back to, one of which came out last year so they have a really niched out place in my heart.

Ensiferum - 2
Finntroll - 1
Wintersun - 1

Folk metal is not really my style and the only band I was familiar with was Ensiferum and that album. I love the Ensiferum covers and when in the right mood can actually enjoy their music. The Wintersun album I was looking forward to, but to be honest didn`t think much of it and it was a disappointment. The Fintroll album I found easily the most enjoyable though, maybe because it had more traditional extreme metal mostly black metal influences to it.

Ensiferum- 2
Fintroll- 2
Wintersun- 1

Ensiferum and Wintersun basically sounded like decent power metal with extreme(ish) vocals. I wouldn't nominate them for album of the year anytime soon (or ever) but I could get wasted to that. Finntroll actually have some class when it comes to songwriting.

Finntroll - 3
Ensiferum - 2
Wintersun - 1

Wow, I did not expect Finntroll to take the lead for this one.
