Poison's single "Something To Believe In" is not so bad. Thats about it though.

Oh come on! Are you going to deny "Look What the Cat Dragged In"? It's just too cheesy and catchy to be denied. And only a truly joyless bastard can turn there noses up at "Nothin' But a Good Time".

So after revisiting the albums I found that I still prefer Cobalt to DSO, at least that Cobalt album. If I chose some of the newer albums it may have been a harder decision, because both Gin (2009) and Paracletus (2010) are amazing albums. For the 3-years that I've been listening to Cobalt I've been trying to find out what makes their music so engaging, as upon first listen it doesn't sound much different from some of the other bands. Black metal is all about atmosphere, and DSO know how to do atmosphere as well as any other band. Anyway... I dunno I just prefer Eater of Birds (2007), I still don't know why, it's just the album I would choose to listen to first.

Cobalt - 1
Deathspell Omega - 0

I've voted on every single battle on here (except the battles when I was away) So if you put up a hair metal battle, I would vote, The Batlord and yourself. In fact this thread also needs more 1970s and 1980s metal abums as well, a lot of people on here seem to think metal began with thrash

I've been listening to that Blind Illusion album that was up whilst I was away and what a great album it is as well, light thrashy prog metal but with just enough venom Can't believe that I never actually got around to listening to it before. After two listens I actually think its as good as the Voivod album.

I'll be checking out the two black metal abums up tomorrow.

yeah, Blind Illusion are (were) cool. Should have added that Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde play on that album... 2/3 of Primus... probably could have got more listeners.

Their last album (sans Les and Larry) sucked the big one though.

First thing i noticed on the album when I checked up on it on wiki, was that Claypool and Lalonde played on the album and Kirk Hammett also helped to produce it.
