Like "Walk".... god awful tone.
I'll happily bash Pantera with the rest of you, but "Walk" is one of the few songs that I'll stand up for. One of the few times that they did their whole schtick perfectly. That riff is just monstrous.

I said they were hated on here and not in the big wide world.

Have yet to see Pantera on the receiving end of any hate. I just always assumed they were respected by almost anyone who's into metal.

I like them enough to say that Vulgar Display Of Power is kind of important. The music that Anselmo made later is much more to my liking. But Pantera ended up sounding pretty good to me.

Why the hate, Jans?

Horses for courses, but I think Pantera were great. I saw them support Megadeth at the Manchester Apollo on their Countdown to Extinction Tour and they blew them off stage. Loads of energy and they put a massive amount of effort into their performance, with Phil showing a surprising amount of humility and gratitude to their fans. Shame that, eventually, it all went off the rails and I wonder if they would have reformed had the tragedy of Dimebag not happened.

For the record, Megadeth played for just over an hour and Mustaine was a real moody f*cker. They did one short encore and left. Crap.

I just love reign in blood and Vulgar display of power, but the album i've listened to the most would have to be The number of the beast.. awesome
