Vektor has to be the best modern thrash band. Even if they're not your favorite. So many bands recycle older riffs and stuff, and never innovate. Vektor slays. Havok's another good one.
I watched a "Vektor" review on The Needle Drop Youtube channel and I am going to listen to the album in a bit.

Looking forward to it.

I mean a real thrash metaller. Someone who at least knows who Gary Holt is.

I don't know if anyone else has heard it but:

Vektor - Outer Isolation (2011)

Heard this today after a near and dear friend recommended it to me. The band are relatively new on the scene, but they really been making a name for themselves in the thrash scene lately. This album is one of the finest examples of progressive or technical thrash metal that I have heard. Granted I don't listen to a lot of thrash metal anymore so my opinion isn't worth much, but don't doubt me when I say this is an album you need to listen to this year if you like the genre. The singer does try a little too hard to sound like Chuck Shuldiner at times, but if you're going to rip off someone it may as well be him.

I'm a little late, but hopefully a second person talking about them will open up a discussion, cause I think this album deserves it.
