Have you ever been minding your own business, happily listening to Nirvana, totally diggin' on "Love Buzz", when out of nowhere, like thunder from the sky, gotten the uncontrollable urge to listen to Carcass? If not then you are an inhuman monster.

Nice! That's one of my favorite Carcass songs. Actually, it's probably my favorite Carcass song that's not from Heartwork. Such great riffs. Which reminds me...I still need to listen to Surgical Steel.

You have to have 15 posts to link videos. Sucks, but it doesn't last long and it prevents spam.

I have been digging Australian metal band Alchemist. Extremely creative stuff. One-of-a-kind atmosphere that reminds me of the outback, yet still crushingly heavy.

First of all, I'm one of the few on here who thinks that Heartwork was their best album. Only melodic death metal album I can think of that incorporates melody without losing any of the intensity of a true death metal band. That album just kills.

And secondly, yes, you do need to listen to Surgical Steel. It's fantastic. As good as anything they've ever done. Has everything that made Necrotism and Heartwork classics. Makes Arch Enemy even more pointless than they already are.

On a different note, this song makes me sad that I don't have a sword to raise up and declare everlasting war against the purveyors of false metal.

I think Heartwork and Necrotism are pretty even, but I favor Heartwork simply because it was one of the first death metal albums that I got into back when I was a metal newbie. I also own Heartwork, and I used to have good times blasting that album while I drove around in high school When I get around to listening to Surgical Steel, I'll let you know what I think. I have a gazillion albums I need to listen to before 2013 ends.

Listening to this band a lot today. Really really great Nordic folk music. Has a metal "attitude", so to speak, even though there's not really much metal instrumentation.
