From what I've heard of them since you posted those few tracks for me to hear, I think they're pretty good. I like a lot of the guitar work and drumming in a lot of their songs, it's pretty awesome.

For example...

This album is abundant of that which I've described. I still have several albums to get through.

You should check out Petitioning the Empty Sky.

I think that is actually the next album I was going to look in to listening in on, had actually thought about downloading their newest though and doing that instead, but I think I want to work from the beginning of their discography.

That's their second album, I think. I haven't listened to their debut yet, but I heard it wasn't that great. I'd say Petitioning the Empty Sky is a good place to start.

I might still give their first a listen, worst to maybe happen is that it's exactly what you say it is, not being very good. New bands, I like to start from where they began to get an understanding of who they are or what kind of roots they have.

I'm actually digging through Arkangel albums at the same time I am going through Converge material, it's different stuff but I like it.

Maybe it's the mood I'm in, but I enjoyed that.

Generally when I go on a one-band/artist binge, it's something trashy yet mindlessly catchy (e.g. Manowar, Britney Spears, Hammerfall, Ke$ha, etc), so it's kind of unusual for me be so obsessed with a more "serious" band like Converge. But even though I'm pretty new to the band, I ****ing love them now and don't want to listen to anything else.

Whether they're playing more traditional metal/mathcore like their first two albums, they are just a crushing force of nature. Then Jane Doe hit, they really threw in the grindcore, and it was just the one of the most intense metal albums ever.

Even later on, when they added more melody to their sound, they never lost their edge. Too bad so many metalheads ignore metalcore, and most metalcore fans don't even listen to anything pre-Killswitch/Suicide Silence, or else Converge would be just as revered as Slayer, Death, or Burzum. Seriously, Jane Doe is easily as great as Reign in Blood or Filosofem.

From their awesome third album, When Forever Comes Crashing.

I was under the impression that Jane Doe was the most revered metalcore album out there.
