Metalucifer playing "Heavy Metal Hunter, pt. 1".... starting a bit after 2:30, you get a series of wonderful lead guitar work. It's like Iron maiden with more energy. Great ****.

Blackened death metal with some symphonic elements. Don't find this coming out of Australia too often!

I know people claim that this is the first death metal album ever, but TBH it sounds more like old school black metal than death metal to me. I realize that combining thrash and black metal was sorta how death metal came around, but this still feels closer to Hellhammer or N.M.E. than it does Death or Obituary.

The Cirith Ungol debut album in 1980 Frost and Fire is often regarded as one of the worst heavy metal albums ever recorded. The songs are cheesy, especially the keyboard ones, the singing dubious and well you can imagine the lyrics This album is like a "Worst of Hollywood for B-Movies" meaning that the whole album actually becomes quite enjoyable to listen to. For those that don't know, Cirith Ungol is a location in LOTR (they were original as well)

Not always in the mood for Emperor, but they definitely have their moments.
