Political Statement in heavy metal on the role of white men in this world

Hello everybody. Hi, I am new to this forum - I could maybe as well ask a real friend about this, and - well I will - just crossed my mind.
But our generation might just as well ask the internet first

So - I kind of am in a state of mind - for all summer - very very thoughtful I was.

Like - imagine you watched the news on TV today - all bad news about war there, death here, the poor people in the world, segregation, killings, the rich and the poor -
Well, the usual stuff. But this time, while telling you the news, the lady on TV would actually FEEL and start crying while letting the world know about children in the favelas....

That kind of state of mind you know. Like I am 34 years old - and like when I was sixteen or so this Feeling for RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE came out of me again.

SO here is my question to you guys here, the new kids on the blog.

Megadeth is a band. Megadeath means a million of dead people.

Now how do you guys feel about this metal music (I am a girl, I was always into folk music, some alternative, well janes addiction was the farthest on heavy metal I liked probably along with pj harvey(which cannot really be named heavy metal...) - well I liked led zeppelin way back in the days of teens ...)

Those Metallers are like - I always thoght they were .... so uncool with their extreme leather jackets, skinny, white, long hear, high pinched voices .... (don't blame me for that

)
but maybe I missed out on their message?! Their point?!

BUT now my question, how do you feel about that: is there a general attitude in Metal music for worlds politics, the global situation and WELL - Whiteys Selfreflection?

Do you see any statements in their Music, their lyrics, their Styles considering White Mans role in this world - e.g. Columbus, imperialists etc?

Are there Songs, Albums, that could be considered in question of critizising this white Mans rule on planet earth that could be called CLASSICS of Metal - or Hymns or anything memorable?

I just wonder about that because Heavy Metal music is in general (yeah, I know the great great band LIVING COLOR) so very white genre of music.
White male angry .... that kind of thing.

So I hope anybody can answer me - THANK you all for your time and brainstorming!
Maybe I wont log in in this blog again (I am very prone to lose passwords etc - was not much of a forum user ever)

hello, thank you everybody for replying.

What I am looking for is maybe not only in heavy metal music, but also in other genres of music. I am concious of the fact that a genre is not about skincolor! Even though YES, Africans have less contributed in classical music (suits, violines, opera, serious business) than whites and hiphop (sic!) primarely is or was a voice of the kids in the ghettos, the blacks, a mood, a movement, a feeling, an expression of reawaking selfconciousness and identity as a racial minority that has been supressed by the (sic!) white christian majority and that gains back strength and vitality!
That does not mean that I am not concious of exceptions eg. Skunk anansie, or Jimi Hendrix or white hiphop artists like, (not a big hiphop expert) Beastie Boys .... or the fact that there is cross over music too.

For me it seems like coming up from age (identification via rockmusic or music is especially important during teenage...) and finding one's role in this world as an adult is a very different business for any white (trash) white christian middleclass majority member than for any kid from immigrants, from colonialized descent, from slaved descent, from indiginous descent.
By the way, english is not my mothertongue, just if you wonder about that I am german speaking mothertongue -

So... well, it looks to me that the Punk movement, also the Rock genre has a lot to do with a rebellion against the mainstream and the class that holds the power! Of corse, not any white ass is a rich person with influence on politics etc. BUT still, compared to other parts in this world, we in the 1.world (US, western Europe) are stinking rich! Everybody here is, compared to the kiddos in the favelas and the slums and the big cities of the 3. world. The 1.world doesn't have slums (worst city in first world probably is L.A that might have slum like ghettos...)

SO my question is about SELFCONCIOUSNESS of this white descent as one of the religious and racial majority (I think the majority of people is white, and the majority of world religion is christian) and also the richest, AND we all know history ... the story of colonialism and how white man came across when he met indiginous men.

THIS WAS VIOLENT.

Like - I am wondering and looking for lyrics and bands that point that sort of topics out.

Like not just like the punks, ( I am not really talking here about the straight edge of punk) that often just endet up with statements, that they are trash and therefore were rebelling by being total misfits to the machine of the majority - just not cooperating. Ending up in a subculture, but remain drunk and in a way weak by acting selfdestructingly.
Anyone has ideas? Thanks everybody.

For me, examples of such statements are - hmm thinking by one self

"Cultural" is the word your looking for in the mini book that you`ve written above. The majority of peoples music tastes are often dictated by the culture and environment that they been exposed to and grown up in, along with the people they come into contact with on a daily basis. White people are usually far more appreciative of black music than vice versa. Most of my black friends hate the stuff I listen to (but they do like Sepultura and all my AOR collection)

You say you`re German and you keep on mentioning the racial aspect in all your posts..........I reckon you`re just a latent Nazi.

"Our" meaning first world, meaning western Europe and US premarely and the political domination of this part of the world of the rest of it. (I know Rock music is global, there are hispanic Rockers, Finnish Rockers, African Rockers, Bulgarian Rockers, Russian Rockers, Chinese Rockers, Fidschi Rockers perhaps, baltic Rockers, Swiss Rockers, nepalese Rockers... even gipsy Rockers probably)

e.g are there any Hard Rockers from Belgium writing songs about the Congo?

If you`re looking for political statements listen to Sepultura, they`re always going on about the injustices of Brazilian society and they usually get the point across in their music and lyrics.

Metal in general is not really about making political statements, its most focused around satan, the occult, violence and fantasy and normally appeals to outsiders in society.
