I have to confess to not hearing any of the cover songs discussed here - but I will add that in my observations, cover albums rarely have tracks that sound as good as, or even better than the originals - there's a reason why we savor and favor the original versions - we heard them first, they became precious to us, and they are locked into our memories, along with significant ocassions, memories and the like...
So when someone comes along and changes it all - we naturally don't feel as if it is as good... |

i didn't want to read all the pages but i read the first 3.
it really wasn't neccessary. anyone who puts zach delarocha up as an example for anything other than a pretender has little/no knowledge of what they speak. |
why is this thread relevant again?

And for equally logical reasons.

Well, yeah, but only because of what they were doing over two decades ago. It's hard to just...lose one's "legendary" status, no matter how many crap albums you put out afterwards - no matter how many times you reinforce the notion that you're only still in it for the money. I think for Metallica to no longer be considered "legends" they'd have to be caught like...raping children or something.
