I'm not disagreeing on whatever influence Phil had on David. All I am saying is that he doesn't sound entirely like him, more so like himself than anything else.

Phil Collins in his prime would have sonned most metal drummers though.

That being said! I have the new Disturbed album too, but I did not buy it, it was 'gifted' to me. I've listened to it front to back, twice now, and it's not far beyond average, matter of fact it's just average. The Vengeful One was a song I felt was a lot better than many other songs in the bands catalog, and the new album does have other good tracks on it, but it failed to hold my attention, and it has been the case for me ever since their very first album hit my ears in middle school. Any way you slice it, Disturbed is an average band with capable musicians choosing to go the easy route of playing radio friendly music.

As for my recent Metal 'purchase', I have the new Soilwork album, The Ride Majestic. That's an album I can recommend.

I've been getting into more 'metal' music like Paradise Lost and such lately, but I still have a soft spot for nu-metal stuff. Heck, I even listen to Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit on a semi-regular basis. It's simple gratification music that appeals to the inner kid in me.

So look in to Soilwork and their body of material. Sure to like some of their music. Don't listen to The Batlord, he's just a snob with his music and I sh*t you not, that bastard would find songs he likes of Soilwork if he just stopped being so stubborn and just went through their discography.

That's a challenge Batty, you sour f*cker.

Snob? I listen to Trivium and yet I'm a snob for not liking Soilwork? I just think they're boring as ****. I've heard the odd song I like, but in general their sound is cut-rate In Flames with everything good squeezed out of it.

Snob was the nicest sounding one to me for a word to use in describing how you are with music you deem worthy of your attention, or what have you. But come on Batty. I think you know my opinion of you isn't a negative one by now.

It's fair however to say Soilwork has influence from In Flames, being that they released their debut after In Flames did with theirs. But our difference of opinion on Soilwork will remain conflicting. You hear boring, I hear a brand of metal that Soilwork is still playing better than a lot of their peers are. Bjorn Speed has a powerful voice, whether he's growling or doing cleans. They're no cut-rate In Flames in my book. Especially since every new album In Flames has put out, Soilwork has put out a better one every time.

Gorguts - Obscura
Thergothon's sole album (that came in an awesome Super Jewel Box case)
Zu - Carboniferous
maudlin of the Wall - Bath
maudlin of the Wall - Leaving Your Body Map
Don't Break the Oath
Asbestosdeath's comp. album
Zions Abyss - Tales
It Is I - Evolve
Sakrificer - Desolate Darkness

I bought a HammerFall t-shirt as well, because this band is awesome, I needed more band shirts, and the world must know how big a nerd I am.

You may live. What shirt?

And I went into FYE today in a vain attempt to buy a Converge album, only to find that literally a third of the store is now dedicated to superhero t-shirts and other assorted merchandise. If I ever want a Deadpool keychain, I now know where to look (I was also surprised by just how many Nightwing shirts and socks they had.)

The DVD section makes up another third, meaning that only one third of a music store is now dedicated to music. WTF?
