Wish - Nine Inch Nails

anticipation 01-18-2008 08:41 AM

combine Et Tu Brute's whole demo into one song, and that would be it.

under 01-18-2008 10:48 PM

The Crusade - Trivium. I would recommend it greatly. Especially if you're the kind of person who's into "lots and lots of guitar chords"

Clownbaby 01-19-2008 09:51 AM

Listen to "Wake" by Rosetta....the buildup and climax of the song are so intense...I could probably recommend a lot of Isis songs here too

pheurton 01-19-2008 11:38 AM

oh comely - NMH
true love - elliott smith
orchard - indian summer
slow and steady wins the race - pedro the lion

Almost anything by Rage Against the Machine will definitely get you going. Especially if your listened to the fueling lyrics.

Hurt - nine inch nails

beyond-hourglass 04-29-2008 06:54 PM

uh,
pretty much an kamelot song,
and manniquin (i totally spelt that wrong) by cradle of filth
& all 3 versions of nymphetamine by cradle of filth

CaptainSuck 04-29-2008 09:16 PM

If you're talking "heaviest" song(s) ever, give the grind band Slough's demo a listen. I'm a massive grind aficionado, and I still haven't found anything as crushingly heavy and disturbing.

Emotionally "intense"? Give My Dying Bride's Turn Loose The Swans a listen (more specifically, the song "Crown Of Sympathy"). You might find it goofy, but you may as well try it out. That, or the live version of Indian Summer's Angry Son.
It's a little painful, actually.

I definitely second that...great example.

I would also add:

"Angel of Death" - Slayer
"Captor of Sin" - Slayer
"Beyond the Black" - Metal Church ( a little slow at times yeah but it rules)
"Whiplash" -Metallica
"MMMM Bop" - Hanson

Zer0 05-01-2008 02:19 AM

The title says it all really :D

Yeah that's pretty intense.

On a serious note, probably something by At The Drive In. Or One Dying Wish by Saetia.

I agree, I got pretty pissed when I heard that song.

The Unfan 05-04-2008 05:54 AM

Happy? by God Lives Underwater gets me almost every time.

SubPop 05-06-2008 08:06 AM

Yeah there is a lot of intense metal out there, the entire reign in blood album is pretty intense. When Neurosis get their wall of noise thing going they can be intense (Lost, Raise the stray). Early Bathory...intense. Most extreme metal bands with ay substance have their intense moments.

Attending a GG Allin concert would have been pretty intense. As would a 60's era Pink Floyd concert whilst tripping.

But what about a bit of Bong-Ra?

I think the Tori Amos call on "me and a gun" wins though. Who needs instruments to make a song intense when your subject matter is off the scale intense.

7861 - Beneath The Sky
Awesome Screaming Voice

draxus 05-09-2008 08:33 AM

I think that one of the most epic to put words at best that i have heard has to be Deth harmonic my Dethklok, it just goes epically with anything. I mean c'mon, london fill harmonic and dethklok, thats ceazy combination.

Props for including this. Its not Metal or Rock, but it is absolutely intense.

In terms of the rock genre...I think "When the Levee Breaks" is tremendously intense...Bonham at his very best.

Raust 05-15-2008 02:36 PM

The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist

Jack Luminous 05-19-2008 06:44 AM

Plenty of good stuff mentioned, but we have got this far and no one has mentioned Godflesh?! Check out their whole back catalogue, intensity is their core business. A personal favourite is Empyreal off their Selfless album, the rhythm just pounds you into submission.

ballpeenbaby 05-19-2008 07:51 PM

Tony by Patty Griffin
That is an intense song.

15Steps 05-19-2008 11:25 PM

crazy ass song.

simplephysics 05-21-2008 08:19 AM

Dance With the Devil by Immortal Technique. That song gives me chills everytime I hear it.

Inhuman 05-22-2008 07:22 AM

Bleed For The Devil by Morbid Angel is a very intense song. It's straightforward blastbeating with a few sparing pauses to allow quick recover...

cgriff128 05-27-2008 01:50 PM

Most intense song for me would have to be either "Pray for All" by Chimaira or "A Breath in the Eyes of Eternity" by As I lay Dying, the first 30 seconds of that song is by far the most intense ive ever heard.
