It was heavy for 1982, you can't compare heavy back then by today's standards. If you think Bruce Dickinson looked like a girl, your musical knowledge from that time period is limited. If you think that they looked like country rednecks, then about 75% of metal bands from that time period probably looked similiar.

It seems like every troll that hits the metal threads, always uses a nu-metal band or some such band to troll with. At least try and use somebody like Linkin Park, they're even worse than Slipknot and then we could have an even bigger laugh at you.

Last few months I've really been into Deftones and Nirvana so go ahead, insult me and mock me all you want cause I don't listen to the sophisticated Dying Fetus.

Why do old metalheads compare old and new metal whole time then? Cause now the more accurate name would be "light, country metal" than heavy metal. I know that those glam metal guys looked even girlier, but that doesn't change the fact that dude looks feminine. So, 75% of "metal" bands from that time looked like rednecks? Awesome.

I won't really defend Linkin Park nor SlipKnot much cause I'm not their big fan. But to call them worse than some old country bands is just wrong.

If you can only look at a band in the context of the present, you won't ever be able to appreciate bands from a different time period fully.

Why would I care if you listen Dying Fetus or not?

As far as I'm concerned you can listen to what the hell you like. If you enjoy listening to Limp Bizkit or Slipknot then listen to them, makes no difference to me.

Where you are going wrong is assuming your taste is better than anyone elses.

Let me put your music taste into some perspective, all I've seen you do is say complimentary things about the same 3 or 4 bands over and over again.
That's out of 60 years of rock music history and thousands and thousands of bands.

If you do insist on judging the opinion of others perhaps you should educate yourself a little more first. Then you won't come across as being an uneducated fanboy for one band.

"Light country metal" has to be one of the most ridiculous statements ever made on here. You do realize that Iron Maiden are a London based band and about as far removed from country as Abba were from punk?

I'm confused as to why you keep bringing up Dying Fetus. Has anyone else in this thread really been praising them? I mean they're okay but they're pretty far from great.

Their vocal and instrumental style kind of reminds me of country cause its so dated. I did make a mistake when I said they look like rednecks. I was wrong. Chains, leather, feminine hair... they actually remind me of S&M whores :rofl:

I don't think there are lesser or better music tastes, but pretentious, arrogant, snobbish elitists disagree and have to constantly mock other people just to make their egos bigger. Some may ignore it or not care about it, but I'm sick and tired of it so I insult back which kind of descends me to their level but at least there is a chance some of them will stop being *******s.

I'm not really a fanboy of any band, I'm well aware that Durst's singing and rapping at some points fails utterly but Wes Borlands riffs mostly make up for it IMO.

And I listen to many more bands and artists and not only from rock&metal, though I have only 2-3 songs from some. But bands I'm very familiar with are: Black Eyed Peas, Bloodhound Gang, Deftones, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Eminem, Haji's Kitchen, KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Pantera, Nirvana, SlipKnot, SoaD, Weird Al Yankovic. Though I don't listen to all of them anymore.

And I did try many bands from different era, including as some mentioned Black Sabbath but I found Ozzy's voice very annoying and screechy.

My point was that you were judging a band based on how they'd look in today's world. Those "hill-billies" didn't look like country folk to anyone back in their day (and honestly I don't see how they could today). Looking at a band through the lens of the time period they were in is a great way to experience them how they were meant to be experienced.

I do insult back cause I'm insulted. If there wasn't those elitists to provoke however, I wouldn't attack them just like I don't attack any other fanbase(whether I like them or not) who leaves Nu Metal in peace.

Its all about how you perceive things. Somebody may see Heavy Metal clothing style as cool, satanic, evul etc while I just see it as feminine and awkward. Same way somebody could not like Nu metal clothing style. Its the same with music and I don't think my opinion is better but I don't think its any less worthy either.

Music is a completely subjective experience so you can't objectively analyze it and tell people what they MUST listen/not listen.

Ironically, those heavy/thrash/death/black have a similar tactic as christians even though most of them are anti-christian, right? The same "you're either with me or you're ****ed" system. Either you listen to above listed genres or you're not tr00 and br00tal(lol) and you are a less worthy wannabe kid. Same with religion, either you love jesus or you burn in hell.
