for fans of mr bungle, you might enjoy Tub Ring.
i also wanted to throw a video of a band called Bend Sinister in here, who are in some ways reminiscent of The Mars Volta (just a lot less complex and more articulately melodic) but i couldn't find a link to any of the tracks i'm familiar. needless to say, going to their show in a place that couldn't have packed more than 100 people in it was the best 5 bucks i ever spent in my life. |
and whiskey, aside from the subjective nature of the word "unknown," i feel this thread was a good idea. thanks buddy.

i don't have alot and im sure some ppl know them,
Kasmir Pete & the pirates Mother, Mother The thermals More will come to mind later.. apart from Kashmir and maybe Pete & the pirates i wouldn't recommend any of them, their just good not great. |
Hammer No More the Fingers
(As an aside, the boy in the video is my adorable cousin who they handpicked to dance like a dork in their video.) Freekbass This man can slap some sick bass. The Freak Fandango Orchestra They're pretty killer. I'd say that if you dig Gogol Bordello, you'd probably have some sort of enjoyment for them. That's the most similar artist I can think of. As an aside, this song is the one my bros and I are planning on using in the opening credits of our sketch comedy ****. These are just three that sprang to mind immediately. I don't wanna go link crazy here, haha. |

Our Subatomic Earth, Bedroom sludge/post-metal, as good as any of the big names in the genre IMO.
