I love these threads.

If I like a band, I know them... therefore they can not be unknown.

This will be the next evolution of hipsters, like "my favorite band is so unknown, I havent even heard them!"

Now that you mention it Bastard, I may not be aware of, or have not as yet discoverd the band/artist who is my all-time favorite.

Hell .. I may "never" know who is my favorite! I might not ever get to hear them because they are so unknown, or they could always have completely been and stayed unknown to only a few local bar fans, and without any recording material ever made at all.

I don't think that there will ever be "The Greatest" persay. Only different great artist and bands, and thats all.

Zoltan Bathory was the bass player for the band U.P.O. Who is currently the lead guitarist for Five Finger Death Punch. I always thought that this particular song was underrated, overlooked anyway.

U.P.O. - Godless - YouTube Have you ever listened to this song before? Its worth the time in my opinion.

Love the "unknown" bands. Los Twang Marvels are a surf instrumental group. Pretty well known band in the surf music community though.

Yep. I've heard that on a couple classic rock stations around here lately, and have actually heard it on the radio before classic rock was termed.

Certainly The Interim Project, stumbled upon them on spotify a few days ago. Liked the EP they had up so I followed them. I'm the only person following them and they only have 3 total listeners on last.fm. I don't know about you, but I cosider that pretty unknown. I also enjoy Behind The Ghost. Star Pimp as well. Actually, just so you guys know, Star Pimp is awesome.

Priestess, sound a bit like early Black Sabbath.

Priestess are quite big. They had a track on Guitar Hero and have even previously had a major label deal on RCA.
