Default Which metal bands should I go see at this festival?

I've recently rediscovered that I like metal, but I haven't listened to metal for years. So I'm a bit behind, to say the least. This summer I'm going to a festival where there's a lot of things to do and see that I'm not looking forward to, involving lots of and races.

So I plan on hiding for those at the music stages. Now the metal line-up for this festival is bigger than the line-up of other musical styles, and since I rediscovered metal I thought it might be nice to hang out at the metal stage a lot. But I need your help! Yes, you! Your help. I need it.

Which one of these bands should I go see? I'm definitely going to see Dragonforce. I like the more easy going melodic types of metal and I don't like really heavy or trash metal. Does anyone know any of the other bands? Recommendations?

A Pale Horse Named Death // At The Gates // Automatic Sam // Black-Bone // Dark Funeral // Die Apokalyptischen Reiter // Dragonforce // Heaven's Basement // Herder // Mushroom Head // Riverside // Royal Republic // Sabaton // Seita // Shaking Godspeed // The charm the fury // Thermals // Vanderbuyst // Wallace Vanborn

The only bands that I even know are ACTUALLY metal on that list are At The Gates, Dark Funeral and Die Apokaliptischen Reiter.

I recommend these three. Now Dark Funeral is black metal, which tends to be one of the least liked genres in metal. At The Gates is a must because they split back in the 1990s and only have been back together to play live as far as I know, so take that chance while you've got it. They're melodic death metal. Lastly, definitely see Die Apokalyptischen Reiter (death metal), they're very awesome. All their lyrics are primarily in German, so be prepared for that.

What festival is this?

The only one I've heard out of that list is Mushroom Head, and they're pretty good.

It's the Zwarte Cross festival in the Netherlands. It's a festival that used to be about getting drunk and watch the motor cross and sing (did I say sing? I meant yell...) along with horrible Dutch artists. But they've expanded their musical range and have now become more festival and less motor cross. My boyfriend really wanted to go, so I agreed to go with him, but I'm not really looking forward to all the drunk people and the motor cross. So hopefully I can enjoy some music.

I'd definitely go see Riverside, they're a pretty good progressive metal band with a good track record for putting out good albums.

Then you may not like my suggestions.

Go on the YouTube and listen to a few tracks. Ones for each that I recommended are:
Dark Funeral
"Final Ritual"
"Secrets of the Black Arts"

At The Gates
"Suicide Nation"
"Terminal Spirit Disease"

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter
„Es wird schlimmer”
„Friede sei mit dir“

Sabaton is pretty good, you should hear them if you like modern power metal.
