We also have a blog set up but that's really only so that we can look at what albums we've done before. All the discussion etc. takes place on fb.

It's pretty much what I've done here only it's more successful and what's nice about this is I know all the people in the group in RL. That means that every week, I get to know my friends a little better.

When we do meet up in real life, we often chit chat about the albums and there's always the possibility of having a club meeting or party if we want.
I would love to do this, but have always felt that I was a bit alone when it comes to my music tastes (at least since after college) as far as my circle of friends goes. That's why I spend so much time on music forums such as this. There's one friend locally that would probably dig this, but he's a freelance writer and video game addict so I don't know that he'd stick on any kind of schedule. But then that's just one, then who? I suppose I could think of friends from my previous locale also, that I'm still in touch with. But again, I'm really the only person as obsessed with music as I am.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Isn't there an album club here? We run a Prog Rock one, which is reasonably successful and regular (five members at the moment), so surely a more generic one could be setup if it doesn't already exist?

Just an idea. You discuss most of your music with the people here anyway. Why not make it official?

We had one for a while but lack of participation sort of killed it.

Glad to see that Floyd is on Spotify. I listen to my iPhone all day when I'm at work, and I've wanted to listen to Animals countless times only to find that Spotify doesn't have it and I was careless enough to leave it off of my phone memory.

Then someone should start a new one! I think it's a great idea.

Thats the general album club.

Ped was hosting it for a while there. If anyone wants to bump it, ask Ped if she wants to start it up again, or take it over themselves then have a look.

We should make a thread and discuss how we can get the General Album Club back up and running, cuz I have some things I want you blokes to hear.

A couple of us generally like to torment the rest of our friends with (to them) strange sounding music

Something I like except for discussion and feedback is that I listen to more music these days that I would normally not listen to, which I quite like. That didn't really happen much when I was doing the prog & fusion album club here.

Put it in the thread itself if you want, and if you can drum up enough interest to get it going again, myself or another mod will delete all the posts from it before you do.
