Default Motorhead WITHOUT Lemmy singing!

Something you probably did not expect to see!

Fast Eddie handles the vocals on this one

Lemmy Falls Ill On Wacken Stage - Motörhead Pull Performance Short After Just Six Numbers

Lemmy reportedly collapsed during Motorheads set at Wacken. His health really does seem to be taking its toll this year.

Thats too bad. One of my favorite people on the planet when it comes to celebrities. Dude has not changed his beat since day one. Hope he takes a good break for the sake of his health. He'll probably be hitting the Rainbow Room in a few days knowing him though.

Add this to his health issues that were reported earlier in this year and it doesn't look very good.

I saw them this year and they were great. They sounded good and they had a nice moment where they invited Phil Taylor on stage (who really doesn't look in good health these days) and had him take a bow with the band at the end of the set. What was noticeable is that Lemmy wasn't quite himself though. I don't want to make too much of it, it's not like he looked as though he was on deaths door or anything, but my mate made a comment where he said he looked bored or disinterested. I didn't agree with that at all, but I can tell why he said it. The banter between tracks had reduced and he was ever so slightly off pace, as if he was looking forward to a sit down.

He's getting older. Absolutely. Thing is that Motorhead don't take a break. Ever.

It is, especially with both old men and gay men.

I don't mean to sound callous, but he's been plugging away at this for decades without making much money, not attaining any job skills, and rock'n'roll does not offer a pension, so, perhaps going out on top before he has to end up a destitute old man isn't such a bad thing. I saw him on an episode of Carson Daly a while back, and the man is living in a ****ty LA apartment. Living to eighty may not be in his best interest. I know that may sound cold, but it may also be reality.

It may be, but consider Motorheads schedule and the possible reasons for it.

Motorhead play here in Newcastle pretty much every year around about October or November. How many times they have been here in the last ten years I don't know, but lets say it isn't every single year and I would guess at maybe seven at least. That means within those twelve months they tour the world, play the festival circuit (as they usually do) and write, rehearse and record new albums. That is an intense schedule for any band, never mind a band the age of Motorhead.

You could argue then that slowing down could offer its advantages. However, maybe Motorhead continue to keep such a packed schedule because it's what they want, what they enjoy, and what they are used to. If thats the case then they will likely continue until some incident like this likely ends it. Lemmy could well die on tour. I would say the chances are good.

The thing is though that if this is Lemmys life, and the way he prefers to greet old age then whether or not he sees the day when he is a destitute old man probably isnt all that important to him. I also dont know where he lives or how much money he has or anything like that, but with such a hectic schedule that probably doesnt mean all that much to him either.
