Vanilla Ice ain't getting within a thousand miles of Metal Month III: I have to have some standards! Limp Bizkit, if you were reading this year's one,was done in The Batlord's Torture Chamber. Green Day are not metal, and anyone who writes "all their albums" is asking for a kick in the ahhh there are a few here but it's no top ten I could consider in its present form.

Oh, and Slayer I did in the last Metal Month, thoroughly.

Edit: I appreciate the joke but I'm looking for serious suggestions here...
Apologies, I never read the first page, I just thought it was another one of those generic "what's your favourite" posts. Sigh my new persona of being a dick just isn't working out, maybe I should scrap it...so much fun though

Because I have a busy career I'm not sure what you've already covered in metal month, but my top 10 metal/hard rock albums are rather generic as I think the 80's & before is when metal was a healthy genre.

No particular order & just one band per record

Metallica - Kill Em All
Megadeth- Peace Sells but Whose Buyin
Slayer - Reign in Blood
WASP - The Last Command
Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
GNR - Appetite for destruction
Van Halen - Van Halen
Number 10 would be a toss up, between Dio-Holy Diver, Def Leppard - Hysteria, though there is some more thrash metal I could add

Yes they're pretty bad to, but I thought I would go with the uninspired blandness of Incubus.

Vanilla Ice- Bi Polar (he went Nu Metal...no really he did!)
Greed Day - Dookie
Incubus - Fungus Amongus

Hmmm, I've got to fit one more in... these guys aren't as good as the artists above, but they do have a big following for some reason so...

Slayer- Reign in Blood
You forgot Avenged Sevenfold - entire discography.

You'd think such a big fan could spell their name right.

  1. Dopesmoker by Sleep - My favorite album ever.
  2. Among the Living by Anthrax - Chugging metal that is also catchy.
  3. Master of Puppets - The riffs for "Damage Inc." are incredible, and "Master of Puppets" and "The Thing That Should Not Be" are two of my most beloved metal songs ever.
  4. Variations on a Theme by Om - Drone, psychedelic stoner metal that is absolutely perfect.
  5. Lost Paradise by Paradise Lost - I've tried to get over this album, but I can't. I'm absolutely obsessed with it. It is sounds like it was made to be played in a medieval dungeon.
  6. Reign In Blood - A mainstay of any extreme metalhead.
  7. Human by Death - Chugging, production, guitar tone, vocals, every aspect of this is great. It goes all over the place, sometimes too much, but the guitar tone always makes the weird tangents interesting.
  8. Don’t Break the Oath by Mercyful Fate - Possibly the most well-rounded metal album ever. Few people can resist this.
  9. Slaughter in the Vatican by Exhorder - Brutal thrash metal.
  10. This Place Where the Dead Speak with the Living by Annimal Machine - Indie sludge metal that is very difficult to find anything wrong with.

Spoiler for Albums that didn't make it:
  • The Road Less Traveled by Penance
  • Relentless [Pentagram’s self-titled debut]
  • Dopethrone
  • Rust in Peace
  • None So Vile
  • British Steel
  • Tales by Zion's Abyss
  • Age of Winters
  • Catharsis by Y.O.B.
  • Lysol by the Melvins
  • Master Control by Liege Lord
  • The Years of Decay
  • Satan Worshipping Doom
  • Heavy Rocks [original]
  • Vinterskugge by Isengard

And perhaps it time you gave some grindcore another chance.

That is correct.

I still don't like Pig Destroyer, but I can stand something more technical like Gridlink.

I've listened to too little metal to really make a top 10 list. I'm more of a Punk guy, and atm i'm busy with Rock.

I really like Metallica - Kill em' All, Megadeth - killing is my business...and business is good, Dio - Holy Diver, Slayer - That album with Angel of death on it(forgot the name, on the phone so too lazy to look it up), and the first two Iron Maiden albums. Edit: I totally forgot, S.O.D. - Speak English or Die. Genius album.

Oh, and I really like Everytime I Die, even though i'm not much of a fan of metalcore.
