In between these two rounds, I want to restart a discussion from a while back.
Led Zeppelin IV is absolutely heavier than Paranoid, but only because Led Zeppelin IV came after better ways of getting a heavier sound were invented. I would have voted Sabbath off, by the way. Whether or not Led Zeppelin IV really classifies as proto-metal, it's just the better album.

Yeah, three bands who are varying degrees of fun in short bursts, but become exhausting to listen to for long periods, and then maudlin of the well, whose non-metal moments are just duller than dishwater.

I can see where you're coming from on Fantômas and Naked City since you're not a diehard like myself, but Gorguts is the best band on the list. Plus you have Cynic and Sigh to vote off.
