I never really got the appeal of Sigh, tbh. It's decent stuff but I'm not sure why they come up in conversations about the best avant-garde albums like these.

And I don't understand how people can actually sit down and listen to Obscura all the way through.

It's the exact opposite for me. The ****ty vocorder effects are annoying, and this is coming from someone who loves Daft Punk's vocorder effects, but the growls are amazing.

Honestly the only kind of death metal vocals I'm okay with are growls and screaming in small doses. Haven't ever been able to stand the screams of Gorguts, or any Death album after Human, for example. Bolt Thrower and Suffocation totally slay though. It's also the reason I don't like Fantômas.

Fantômas doesn't have death metal vocals though.
