A lot of people consider them to be progresive metal, but I've also never understood how they got that title. The only thing that they really have going for them with Operation: Mindcrime to be put into that category would be the fact that it's a concept album.

Yep, I agree . I've been a fan of their early more metal material since the Queen Of The Ryche EP and have never seen them in a progressive light. But whatever, people hear what they hear I guess.
