I think it's unfair to call slipknot by any genre. As a band they experiment so much and are so constantly evolving that they're sound never stays the same for long. There first two albums are the most similar. Their third album began to use a more fluid sound with other lighter, trippier songs. There fourth album had a bit more of a generic sound to it. Then the fifth album hit and completely changed it again while going back to the originaleft sound. So I can honestly agree with what your saying.

I think they're fun and I also think that's what they're all about. I'm no expert but I don't see any reason to get uptight about it. If they're Kenny G meets Kiss pretending to be Slayer then **** yeah.
