Agree, obviously, with all of this. It's not like HD hasn't earned its place at the top. A seminal metal album and one of Ronnie's finest hours.
**** you haters.

Nuuh. MF's lyrics and King Diamond's face inspired black metal bands, but the music itself is what matters. Don't Break the Oath is a traditional heavy metal album.

Sure, but in no way shape or form can it **** with Powerslave. I honestly can't think of any album that would have had a fair shot against it. What the **** is happening now, considering that the only person to vote for that album before the last couple rounds was William, is beyond me.

Mercyful Fate is not an extreme metal band so why would I put them up against extreme metal bands? Musically they're closer to trad metal than anything else.

It was a mystifyingly close battle, but as expected...

Iron Maiden's Powerslave is officially the greatest trad metal of all time!

Now it's time for death metal...

1. Death - Human
2. Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
3. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
4. Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
5. Carcass - Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
6. Deicide - Legion
7. Dismember - Like an Ever Flowing Stream
8. Obituary - Cause of Death
9. Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines
10. Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos

Vote 4 off. Polls end on February 23.

Pretty well versed in all these but will have to revisit the Nile later. I think that's the one you snubbed Autopsy for? That's all well and good but now I'm thinking Autopsy could've replaced Bolt Thrower. I don't think of that one in the running for GOAT death metal album, BT are great and only release great albums, but they're, to me, like one of those Motorhead/ACDC bands, and the first two Autopsy albums were influential and are bona fide classics no matter which way you look at it. Would've Gone with Realm of Chaos myself for a BT album.

I know it's not changing, I'm just discussing.

Haven't listened to Like An Everflowing Stream in a while either.

I'm honestly thinking of a last minute change for Bolt Thrower. Both RYM and BestEverAlbums listed that as their best album, so I just figured **** it. But it just feels weird for it to not be Realm of Chaos, War Master, or IVth Crusade.

And I know you love Autopsy, but they are hands down the most dated sounding of all Florida death metal bands. They have their moments, but for the most part I've just always found them dull.
