Isn't Paranoid trad metal? Lights Out was 77 so that ones kind of in the concurrent to metal rock category. MC5's High Times would go good on that list.

Your avatar change saddens me. I was almost starting to like MB since I've come to associate my dog with it.

I'm using the NWOBHM as the cutoff for proto-metal. It's why I used Stained Class rather than Sad Wings of Destiny.

I still think that MC5 deserves a slot on there though. They rocked harder than The Stooges, after all.
