It's about that time to pick the next battle, and I'm gonna let TLP choose. He's putting far more work into this thread than I am after all.

FYI, we might need to shorten the battle if participation isn't high enough. Folk metal isn't quite as juicy a genre as thrash or trad metal. Agalloch, Turisas, Primordial, Ensiferum, and Drudkh should be popular enough, but a lot of the other ones might not excite enough people.

I think there's always going to be enough participation for these battles. Unless you have an example from the past of the thread where we didn't have a ton of participation, then I really doubt we'll ever have only one or two people voting. I mean, you and me are already two, and there's always the auxillary folks who participate in some battles and not in others. I think we should be good.

Black metal, one of the most revered genres in metal, had a surprisingly sparse turnout, and I had to completely ditch metalcore without even finishing one round.
