I don't play guitar, so I have zero knowledge of how the f to say this properly, but the thing that bothers me about the riff in "Paranoid" is that it jumps several notes, whereas "Smoke" uses notes closer to each other, and it sounds much more melodic and heavier to me.

Never been a big fan of the Paranoid riff, as infamous as it may be.

Paranoid - 3
Smoke - 6
