Flaming Lips to Cover Queen, Release DVD Companion
Susan Hopkins and Rob Kleckner report:
Remember that day in May when we told you that the mighty Flaming Lips, all lush sounds and weirdness and of course Wayne Coyne, were slated to appear on a compilation in tribute to Queen? Well we hadn't forgotten, and hopefully neither did you, because Billboard.com reports the album, entitled Killer Queen, is due to appear on August 2 courtesy of Hollywood Records. And not only will Wayne and his merry band appear singing-- what else?-- "Bohemian Rhapsody", but so also appears Rooney, Joss Stone, Los Lobos, Sum 41, and others, all trying their damndest to even come close to the greatness of Freddie and his mates. Here's the list:

01 Gavin Degraw - We Are the Champions
02 Jason Mraz - Good Old Fashioned Loverboy
03 Flaming Lips - Bohemian Rhapsody
04 Eleven feat. Josh Homme - Stone Cold Crazy
05 Rooney - Death on Two Legs
06 Jon Brion - Play the Game
07 Shinedown - Tie your Mother Down
08 Joss Stone - Under Pressure
09 Los Lobos - Sleepin' on the Sidewalk
10 Be Your Own Pet - Bicycle Race
11 Ingram Hill - 39
12 Breaking Benjamin - Who Wants to Live Forever
13 Sum 41 - Killer Queen
14 Antigone Rising - Fat Bottomed Girls
15 Constantine Maroulis feat. Las Vegas Cast of We Will Rock You - Bohemian Rhapsody

In other Lips news, the band are set to release a soundtrack companion to their recent DVD documentary, The Fearless Freaks. The disc, compiled of rare cuts from the band's earlier years, will be available for free. In Wayne Coyne's own words on the first track: "Now this CD is meant as a bootleg give-away that will be presented to all those who attend the first showing of Bradley's spectacular documentary film The Fearless Freaks. This film follows the life and times of Steven, Michael, and myself. There's lots of embarrassing clips of us with weird haircuts, and bad clothes, and though this CD has a very limited run of only a few hundred, all who can are urged to copy it and put it on the Internet and do whatever you can do with it. Please, please do not pay hard-earned money for it."

Tracklist:

01 Wayne's Intro
02 With You
03 You Can't Stop the Spring
04 Shine On Sweet Jesus
05 Space Age Love Song
06 Mouth in the Incubator
07 When You Smile
08 Sleeping on the Roof

There ya go. For those of you it didnt work for.

But maybe I don't want to finish anything anymore..
maybe I can wait in bed 'til she comes home. and whispers....
