Singing behind the beat really annoys me, especially in jazz. The only time it works for me is when the singer fits in an extra syllable and has to catch up, like Roger Daltrey on "My Generation".

Here's a song that I feel would have been much better if it was sung on the beat.

That said, the lyrics, melody, and general flow are so breathtakingly beautiful that every time I've tried to make a list of my favourite songs, this ends up in the top ten.

Oh look, another musician who has a lot of talent on guitar but wastes it on in creative bs.

Is she related to Yngwie?

Are you trying to say that "Through the Fire and the Flames" is not an avant garde masterpiece?

It certainly is a very challenging listen.

I got through about forty seconds of it before I realized that no matter how well she played, I was still listening to Dragonforce.

Says the dude who gets on stage and bangs kitchen utensils together.

:D

Better that than Dragonforce.

You're just jealous that you didn't think of it first.

And I play my instruments using a fork. Only a dumbass would bang them together.

I've come around to Frownland's music. I can say I genuinely enjoy it now.

Much better than Dragonforce. Had to finish listening to the song before exiting the thread.

If you heard 40seconds of one Dragonforce song you've heard every Dragonforce song.
