Anyway, it's not meant to be totally representative of the country, just an idea, the same as I don't expect to fill someone in totally on Star Trek in just one month. I do what I can, being limited by time.
But if a country's metal community is dominated by a thriving black metal scene, and you cover a bunch of other metal bands that are really only outliers -- basically ignoring the main scene -- then are you really doing the country justice?

That's not what I look at. It's more a case of, should you go to Poland, for instance, these are some of the metal bands you can look up. What if a country is dominated as you say but the reader is not into that sort of metal? Are they to assume there is no other type of metal in that country? I prefer to give as broad an overview as I can, and try to cover a wide variety of subgenres. It's just the way I do it.

If you fancy covering a specific country for MM III, you're welcome to do so. Just let me know.

Hmm. Yeah, thought that would shut you up.
Seriously dude, can you never just give me credit for what I do? Do you always have to find fault? Whether it's a journal, an entry in one or a post or a thread, you always seem to be having a go. I don't do it the way you would do it and so therefore it's wrong. Metal Month III is mine, and I'll do it as I see fit. I would have thought you would have appreciated my attempt to delve into subgenres of metal that I don't normally have an interest in, but all you seem to do these days is whine and bitch and moan at me. Really, it's getting old. Can you just stop it? If you have nothing good to say, just say nothing: it'll be easier and we'll get along a lot better as a result.

Although I can't comment as to what happened outside of this thread between the Batlord and you, a good discussion should be hotly contested if both sides think their position is the correct one. You know the old adage, "steel sharpens steel"? I don't think Batty crossed over into the realm of 'I am right, and you are wrong.' He was just playing the devil's advocate here.

Clearly though, you've made up your mind and the matter should be dropped.

On topic: I am in the midst of updating my top ten metal albums list and should have it ready in time.

Yeah, it's more a case of every time I do something he has a go. In my Star Trek Picard vs Kirk he went on a long diatribe telling me how wrong I was, in the "Riff Wars" thread he slags off every post I make. I know it's not meant as anything serious but there's no balance; he never seems to say "well done" or "good job". Not that I need vindication from him, but you would think, with the amount of work I'm putting in, if not back-patting then I can at least do without backbiting and sniping. Every album I reviewed in MM he had something a little sneery to say: example, when I did Brazil he said "Dude! You're not doing Sarcagafo"? or whatever This AFTER I had finished that country and had previously asked for help, got none. Wise after the event. Great. Captain Obvious to the rescue. When I reviewed a Sepultura album, he lost no time telling me what a wrong choice I had made. It's just annoying; it seems to be nothing I do can please him, not that I'm trying to please him, don't care but I could do without the constant negativity.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy but he seems to delight in putting my work down every chance he gets. I'm not happy about that.

I think you may be taking The Batlord a bit too seriously. I have a go at him every chance I get and he throws it right back. Rarely do I ever say something positive about him.

Back on-topic: I have finalised the list of the countries I'll be doing this year. They are:

Bosnia and Herzegovina
Syria
Iran

and
Israel and Palestine, which I'll do as one entity.

Anyone see the connection? Yeah, thought you would.
If anybody has knowledge of bands I should cover from any of these countries, you've got six months: please fill me in. I know nothing about the Metal scene in any of these (other than a brief flirtation with Orphaned Land) and will be learning as I go. Thanks.

The thing is, I really like the guy and I wish he'd just once admire my work or even just not slag it off. I don't know about you but I haven't seen him slagging your work off in your journal, yet he seems to do it to me all the time, always with a sense of "Pfft! I could have done better than that!" yet when I actually ask for help, I get a deafening silence. It may be petty, but it IS beginning to annoy me. I like to see comments in my journal, I like it when they're his, but nein (hah) times out of ten they're either a pithy one-liner, a gif or a long explanation as to why I suck. It gets wearing after a while.

Dude, how often do I slag off Unknown Soldier for putting one band over another or excluding such-and-such band from his journal? Like, constantly. And I maintain an album review index for it. If I'm poking at you, it's because I think you're worth poking. You don't see me mocking Ki's journal because it sucks.

Also, you just get so mad sometimes that I can't help myself.
