1) It's neither atmospheric nor exceptionally well written. Personally, the vocal lines especially piss me off. He sounds like a ****ing goat.
2) Cat Power, The Decemberists, Midlake, Okkervil River, etc.
3) All of the other albums are just that much better. This is me being objective. (Though First Day of My Life and Poison Oak are pretty good.)

Also convince me to put Seven Swans back on the list. I did replace it with Carrie and Lowell.
