Let's Discuss Linkin Park!
I love Linkin Park!
I've known this Band my entire life, and I listen to a broad variety of their songs. My favorite Albums are: "Hybrid Theory", "Meteora", and "Minutes To Midnight". I do have a few favorite songs from: "Living Beings", "Hunting Party", and "A Thousand Suns". What about you guys? ^^ |
Nah.

I always wondered why Linkin Park and their peers were so bad at spelling.

I'm so disappointed by their new album that I turned it off to listen to the new Papa Roach which ended up on repeat. |
cooler's revenge was around 40 minutes or so with like 10 songs by Early 00s Bands You Might Have Loved in Elementary School™ in the english dub. i was all for it

I had an embarrassing moment back when Hybrid Theory was new where I was feeling unbelievably angry, angsty and sorry for myself. Maybe a couple months at worst. So of course blasting ****ty angst filled drama queen music like LP worked for me. Then I got better and immediately started hating the bands music.
They've done some stuff I find inoffensive and a few decent hooks/production details, but overall I find the band pretty bad. Especially that new album they just released. I mean... Making pop is one thing, but this is just really bad pop. I'd rather listen to a third rate Katy Perry wannabe if I had to make the choice. |
I do not like them anymore. Their first two albums are basically like taking the concepts of Beck's "Loser" and adding some unnecessary genre bending. Unlike "Loser" though, Linkin Park's songwriting uses overly-emotional lyrics that rant more than they tell a story, instead of more thought-provoking abstract lyricism. Not to mention their bland riffs that are more uninspired than Pantera riffs, their rapping that has annoying cadence, and their cliché singing.
"Somewhere I Belong" is about the only song by them I can still listen to, mostly because they tone down the emotion on that one. |

I probably should've mentioned this in my first post: I have very negative feelings towards their new Album.
I hate Pop for anecdotal reasons that I'm not going to get into right now. I gave it a chance by listening to "Heavy", but I honestly couldn't stand it. And in reply to a few comments: While yes, they can be bland and over emotional; there is still something about their sound that I like. Although, I'm not sure what that is. XD I respect all of your opinions, and I like that you guys are discussing this in a civil manner. ^^ |

I enjoyed Hybrid Theory when I was 13-14. Pretty sure I could still rap most of 'In the End' despite having not heard it for close to a decade.
But they don't have much depth. |

They did change their sound over time and experimented with different things. I just can't be bothered with The new album though. |

I was in the Navy at the time so guys in their early 20s and every single person had a copy of the album. We would just ask whose room is closer in the quarter to go get their copy so we could play it. |

every song on hybrid theory kills accept crawling IMO and is one of the greatest albums ever, everything else by them is not even worst listening too as it tarnishes this albums greatness(again IMO). I may have been too young and impressionable to realise why the haters would have hated it at the time, a commercial version of the rock rap korn etc had been pushing for years, but I'm glad I was, because I still love this album.
fitting that my first post is about this album as it was the first "heavy" album I ever listened too |
